Exiting the Parks at night with an ECV?

I've done the parks a few times with an ECV and each time has been different. I have two questions. One, it seems at park closing you can't use the handicapped section for your ECV, but have to wait in line with all the others, which can be problematic because you have to load first. What is the protocol at night. And 2, this one is more about pissing people off, what if your party is large? Do folks get upset that you and your party are taking up too many seats?

I am not sure about the procedures at night - I think you still use the accessible loading section, but there may be a line at it too. Someone is usually around directing a bit, so if in doubt, ask.

To your second point, people may in fact get frustrated - I've heard grousing about it before - but don't worry about it. If you are following the proper Disney procedures, then they can complain all they want. You aren't doing anything wrong. It is setup that way for a reason.

It will depend on the transportation mode and where you're going. Some resorts (usually the ones with more people, like Pop) might have ECVs wait in the normal bus line until you reach a pull off at the beginning of the front row. Others you can go straight to the handicapped area.

Yes, I was at POP one year and did have to wait in the regular line, which is fine, I just want to know which is correct. I suspect if the handicapped rope is up, this would be the case. But there is no one there at park closing to direct you.

I come back alone and let family board separately. Kindness at closing time. Plus it's vacation who cares about time.
