Kerry Won!! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1104-36.htm

Here's a snip of the whole article:

Kerry won. Here's the facts.
I know you don't want to hear it. You can't face one more hung chad. But I don't have a choice. As a journalist examining that messy sausage called American democracy, it's my job to tell you who got the most votes in the deciding states. Tuesday, in Ohio and New Mexico, it was John Kerry.

Most voters in Ohio thought they were voting for Kerry. CNN's exit poll showed Kerry beating Bush among Ohio women by 53 percent to 47 percent. Kerry also defeated Bush among Ohio's male voters 51 percent to 49 percent. Unless a third gender voted in Ohio, Kerry took the state.

So what's going on here? Answer: the exit polls are accurate. Pollsters ask, "Who did you vote for?" Unfortunately, they don't ask the crucial, question, "Was your vote counted?" The voters don't know.

If I had been asked who I voted for at an exit poll, I would have lied just to throw off their "facts". And I'm sure that I am not alone.

I always said I would do the same - never been questioned though cause I've always lived in States that are never really in question and in relatively small towns ;)

Greg Palast is a perfect example of a conspiracy nut grasping at wafer thin conspiracy straws.

He needs to look up so he doesn't miss the fleet of black helicopters hovering over him.

Apparantly, exit polling is very sophisticated and pretty time consuming...you have to fill out a questionaire, not just give a one word answer. After waiting for hours to vote, I can't imagine that many people wanted to spend more time there!

I have to admit that the Republicans were much more clever and organized than we (Dems) were this time. I mean, DeLay came into Texas 2 years ago and started the battle to redraw the Congressional Districts...it took many special sessions of the legislature to do it, but it got done. They put Gay Marriage amendments on the ballots in states like Ohio. You can't just do that overnight. Money and warm bodies - even if enthusiastic and well meaning - can't defeat years of extremely disciplined advance work.

Of course, we Dems will learn from that...maybe we'll go into to the states where the Dems control the legislature and redraw the lines to take away seats from the Republicans. That really doesn't serve the interests of the people, but it serves the interests of the parties.

Unfortunately, we all hear only what we want to hear; I don't think we Dems were listening. That old church lady in Ohio with a bee hive hairdo, a big vinyl purse and clothes from Walmart...her vote counts the same as Bruce Springsteen's or Michael Moore's or P. Diddy's.

Yes, it's called jerrymandering. How do you think the Democrats held onto the House for 40 years? Now that the Republicans hold the southern state houses, and drawing the districts, it's an evil thing. Hypocrites.

Unfortunately this is exactly how I think liberal elitists view the rest of the country. Am I correct in my assumption missypie?

Regardless of the outcome of the election, this statement would be true. Politicians are all crooked. They can't help it. It's in their nature.

I would have said - "It's none of your business who I voted for." Only the real partisans would want to spend 20 min talking to a pollster about why they voted the way they did.

In a state like I live in (Mass.) you almost have to hide your political views in order not to get shouted down or called bad names. So in a close state, when you have been branded "evil" for disagreeing, you keep mum.

A conspiracy theorist on the right said today that the exit polls were wrong becuase someone inside the exit polling pool called the Kerry camp. Then the Kerry camp called their network of voters and told them "vote here between 10am-11am" to sway the exit results... then the media would leak that the race trended to Kerry in a big way and discourage voters in NV, AZ, HI. Not my theory, but interesting.

Well the Dems can ask their buddies in CA how to do it because that is exactly what they did a few years back.

I've heard that that is why Congress can't compromise any more (that's assuming that they ever could). In almost every state, the party in power draws the lines for the congressional districts, creating mostly "safe" districts for one party or the other...thus, far right wing and far left wing folks are being elected, because there is no need to appeal to the center.

Thanks! I'll be sure and pass that along to my Granny this weekend when I motor over the state line to visit her. But - for the record - that is not a big old vinyl purse, it's genuine 100% cowhide and her clothes came from the clearance sales at Lazarus!

Why do we need exit polls?

If that's the case, why do we need that little curtain that folds over you on the voting machine, if you're going to blab who you voted for anyway?????

Bunch of noseybodies who know nothing.

I think the exit polls were lucky they weren't mugged!:teeth:

"liberal elitist" you guys sure have fallen in love with that term. Do you mean anyone who did not vote republican? Close to half the country? And what exactly is the opposite of a liberal elitist? Conservative redneck? I am just asking, because you seem so fond of labels. "You did not vote the way I did? Then you must be called a name". I want to be sure I do things properly. Wouldn't want to offend any conservative rednecks now that they are the majority would I? Am I correct all of you conservative rednecks? Or do have another name like moral majority? we have seen right on this thread how moral you are when you boast of how you would lie. So I guess that one is out. So hard to find labels isn't it? And in case you missed my point...so ignorantly rude too !
