Do any of you use an exercise ball as a chair while you are working at a desk or table? If so, does keeping your balance on the ball help at all with your legs and/or abs?

I use it as a chair when I DIS. It's instant exercise just trying to stay on the thing. I think it definitely helps my legs.

My daughters use it as a chair while playing their PS2's. It is fun to watch them roll around trying to guide their golf balls or race their cars.

I know when I was being induced to have my DD they had me sitting on one of these! Supposed to help stretch all the pelvic muscles etc!

I love it! :goodvibes I think it's great for core-muscle strengthening. You are forced to keep yourself balanced - especially if you "destabalize" yourself by raising your feet or crossing your legs :rotfl:

The first time I saw one being used, I was walking through an office building and saw a woman sitting on a ball at a computer out of the corner of my eye. I literally stopped and walked backwards to see if I had really seen what I did. It was especially surprising since that was before I was aware of exercise balls.

My mom had one in her office for a while, but she couldn't use it because she had to roll between two desks. However, the first day or so she had it she came home with sore ab muscles, so it does work.

I used to work as a receptionist at a gym when I was younger, and we weren't allowed to use chairs so when the bosses would leave we would roll a fitness ball from the aerobic room and use it as a chair. Or when I was in the back doing paperwork I'd use it as a chair also.

It really did help my legs and my stomach. But I also had a habit to continually bounce on it. I just thought it was fun. :goodvibes Actually, I had been thinking about that last night and I'm running to Walmart this afternoon to go buy one.
