Excursions

I keep reading that everyone signs on at midnight to check in and to get excursions. I'm not big on being up until midnight, if I wait until the next morning, will I still find excursions available. I'm also a first time cruiser.

Yes, there will be excursions available the next morning. For the most part the "early bird" people (ones who are waiting with their finger on the "log in" link at the stroke of midnight) are going for early PATs, or Palo/Remy brunch reservations.

Realize it's midnight Eastern time. If you're not on the east coast of the US, then your actual window opening time will be different.

Thank you. I do live on the east coast. We are taken DCL transportation so I'm not worried about an early boarding time. I'm also traveling with two young boys, so no Remy or Palo for us.

You might want to consider Palo if you have a cruise longer then 4 nights. The boys will love Kids club, they will be happy to get fed early and hang out at kids club while you guys have dinner. $20 each for one of the best dining experiences you might have ever had... worth it.

Full disclosure, I havnt been to Palo yet myself, I will this upcoming cruise, but I have read like 100 reviews on it.... it is well worth the price!

I would not stay up until midnight to do the online check in. I did that last week thinking I HAD to. Well, 12:30, 1:00…no on-line check-in link popped up for me. I had the worst nights sleep as I kept waking to see if the link was showing and it wasn't. In fact, it didn't show up until 6am. Ugh. I promptly signed in and got my 10:30 PAT which is the only thing I really needed. I have been to PALO and it was good, but like you, I am traveling with my kids and I won't ditch them to have dinner without them. I am also traveling with my mom so it's not like it would be a romantic dinner anyway

Lesson learned, for my anyway. I wouldn't stay awake until midnight for that again.

I have never checked in on the first possible day, let alone at the first possible minute! Have never found anything we wanted sold out. Have also never eaten in Palo as we like to dine with our son.
