Excursions - when are they charged

If I book an excursion for St. Marten 60 days out - when is it charged to my KTTW card? Will it be on my account when I board the ship, the day of the excursion or some other time?

Also - what is the balance my account has to reach and then they charge my card?

Ok, if you book in advance, the excursion will appear on the KTTW card on the first day. However, if for any reason, the excursion is cancelled (weather, unable to enter that port of call, etc.) it will be credited back to you.

As long as you have sufficient credit, your credit card is charged at the end of the cruise--so there is a one time charge to it. If you have a land/sea, the credit card is charged at the end of each portion. It is actually nice to have only that one charge to the credit card at the end....

We were charged each time we spent another $400. We used a debit card and I don't know if that has anything to do with it...could be that DCL doesn't want to take chances on daily limits to the cards. Our limits are high enough to handle all of the charges in one day, but we ended up with four seperate debits to our account anyway.

wide awake is correct...... once your onboard account balance hits around $400, they will charge whatever card you gave them, debit or credit, makes no difference. So..... if you don't want the card to be charged, you would need to go to Guest Services and pay your balance with cash or traveler's checks. I'm not sure if they will accept a personal check for your account, I do think they will cash a limited number/amount of personal checks for you though.

I want to book my our Excursions foe our 4 day July cruise as early as I can.....
will they wait till I actually go on the cruise to bill me?
