Booked on the 3 Day Wonder in Sept/04. Just wondering if we are better off to book the Discover Atlantis Excursion or should we take a cab there ourselves. I noticed that the departure times from the ship for this excursion are 11 am and 1 pm. This seems a little late to me as we want to stop at the straw market before getting back on the ship before dinner.

Been a long time since we took this excursion but you may be right about taking the cab. We booked through the cruiseline and left at 11 AM. It took a while to get there. Of course we enjoyed the boatride.

After the tour, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a return ride back to the ship. When we got back to where we docked, we had just enough time for a small tour of the straw market.

All in all, we were kind of rushed to get everything in before getting ready for dinner. A taxi might give you more breathing space. Would have been nice to spend a little more time at some of the shops at Atlantis too.

Hope that helped!

We were on the Wonder in August 2003 and took the excursion to Atlantis. It was our 1st cruise and after this we would never take this excursion again. We were rushed through and didn't even have time to take pictures. If we were to do it over again we would go on our own. What a disappointment for our kids.

Take a cab over and back. Your time will be your own.

You'll find the cab drivers at the end of the dock. $4.00pp each way and $1.00 for the toll going over.

Have a great time.

Can you tour Atlantis on your own or do you know the fee to get in? Is it worth it? My DS 7 and 5 love aquariums, but on the other hand maybe we'll just stay onboard that day.

Part of the Atlantis resort is free to visit. To tour the Dig(the aquariums) on your own, it is the cab ride, plus $25 per adult, $19 per child 4-12, under 4 free. The Disney tour is very rushed and I would not recommend it.

If you book the disney excursion, do you have to take the tour and stay with the group, or can you break off once you get there and do your own thing?

We have booked the disney one, under the assumption that our time would be our own while we are there. Is that wrong? Do you have to stay with the group?
