Who and How much do most people tip?

We have a DCL sponsored excursion in Grand Cayman. There will be bus transportation to and from, a dolphin encounter and a visit to the turtle farm across the street.

Do I tip the driver coming and going? or will it be the same driver and tip at the end? Do I tip the dolphin instructor? or anybody at the turtle farm?

We have another private excursion in Cozumel and plan to tip the driver at the end, but Im also not sure who to tip during the excursion.

And one more question: Palo brunch: the information is conflicting - yes or no leave additional tip?

I want to be polite and tip appropriately but I also dont want to go broke tipping when I have already paid for an experience.

When we were in GC last year we tipped the driver half our allotted driver tip before getting off the bus the first time (in case it was a different driver). I probably wouldn't tip the dolphin people, but I haven't been there. You don't need to tip anyone at the turtle farm unless you specifically have a guided tour (which I doubt you would). If you have the same driver after, you can give him the other half (or if it's someone else, you can tip that person at that time).

It sort of become obvious who to tip. Anyone who spends a significant amount of time focusing on you and your group - tip.

Palo - I've only been once, but, yes, we tipped. We left $40 if that helps you. (So basically the whole experience was $100 for the two of us.) Maybe that was too much, i don't know. It seems to me, if we had that meal at a restaurant in the US, that's about how much we'd end up tipping.

I typically go scuba diving and I tip the dive crew on the boat between $5 and $10 depending on the service. The driver that takes us to/from the ship I tip $5. Now I'm on this port adventure alone and if I was diving with a friend or as a couple I would probably double that amount.
