I'm clueless about what to do at ports on our 7 day Western Cruise leaving on May 8th. Any suggestions about various excursions at the different ports would be greatly appreciated.

HI , i decided to book my own excursions, it's my first cruise and after reading the boards and doing some research i figured i could tailor make the excursions we really wanted for alot less $$
this website was really useful http://www.cruisecritic.com/ports/area.cfm?area=9
it gives details of every port and some suggestions of what to do , we are travelling with DS13 and here is our itinerary, hope it helps you out.
Have a great holiday.

If you like a little adventure...off the beaten path kind of things.....We just did the Dune Buggy trip in Cozumel through Cozumelhomes.com. It was a BLAST. We got to drive up the coast of Cozumel and through sand and jungles, do spin-outs (hubby loved that), and drive as fast as you wanted all with a cooler of drinks in the back of the buggy. We had a homemade mexican lunch on the beach and snorkeling to a "gorgeous" reef for about 1.5 hours. Then we drove to a mayan ruin and got to play with a boa constrictor the guide found. It was a terrific day! Let me know if you would like more information.
It ended up being the best day of the whole trip!

Mrsfuzzmo, The buggy trip sounds like a blast. Did you have to take a boat to the mainland or did you do this in Cozumel? Who drives the buggys. Im definately checking out this website.:teeth:

If you like snorkeling we did the snorkle trip in Key West and the Shipwreck and Reef snorkle on Grand Cayman (both through DCL)

You drive the buggies, because of mrsfuzzmo, we are going to book this excursion when we do the western in January 2006. She had a great report in another thread I think and it sounds like a blast.

Okay, the only "mistake" we made was having the Palo brunch key west day. We ate, and ate, and ate some more, then we thought we would just stroll around key west....WRONG, I was SO_O_O full I just wanted to lie down and die. Then it was very warm...and enough said. My original plan was to try several key lime pies....could not even think of eating another thing after brunch!!!!

When we go again, I'm doing the brunch another day so I can enjoy key West not feeling like an elephant, OR not do Key West in the day, just for the sunset celebration--which is not to be missed!!!

In Grand Cayman we did the semi-sub excursion that included snorkeling. For us being first time snorkelers (and I didn't want to snorkel but wanted to be able to do something with my family) this was a great excursion for us. Then we had lots of time afterward to walk around and shop.

We did the Tulum Ruins tour with the Cozumel stop. That was really good. Although it was summer and it was hot - it was still good.
