Hi,

We are going on our first cruise on the 19th and have booked two excursions. In Nassau we plan to go to the Blue Lagoon and in CC we are planning to snorkel. What happens if the weather is bad (ex. raining, very windy) or if we get rerouted? Will they still charge you?

Thank you!

It depends on who you booked with on the Nassau one. If DCL, then they won't charge you if they cancel the excursion or the port visit (same in CC, obviously!) If your Nassau excursion is with another provider, it's up to them. I've heard that some of them will refund, and other's won't since it wasn't necessarily their call on cancelling. I would ask the company sponsoring the excursion what their policy is if DCL doesn't dock there......

On our Western last summer, DS was booked for the teen catamaran in Cozumel and a tropical rain storm moved in fast and furious. It was obviously cancelled at the last minute - kids were already meeting to go. We didn't have to do a thing. It was credited to our account and a credit notice was delivered to our stateroom.

Also weather "glitches" seem to be handled better with excursion providers working directly with DCL. In Key West a portion of the excursion we were on had to be altered due to a variance in the tide because of some wind. Now this really didn't upset any of us on the excursion - probably because of the type of excursion and type of people who would do that sort of excursion. In any event the provider refunded basically 50% of the cost back to everyone that went. Once again it appeared as a credit on our bill without having to do anything.

Thank you all for the reassurance. We did book through Disney for both excursions.

I was jumping the gun looking ahead at the weather (which is too soon I know) and it seems to be quite rainy lately.

Hopefully if it rains, it is calm and short lived so we can enjoy the day. And even if it rains hard and we are stuck on the boat, we are still not freezing in Minnesota!

Have a great day!
