Exclusive Party Merch Frustrations- Why?

We attended JN last night Sat 12/7. 2 hours into the party we headed to the very TINY merch location for the party, only to find out they were already sold out of pins. My 10 yo DD was so disappointed. It’s all she wanted and she doesn’t ask for much.

When you pay almost 200$ p/p for exclusive party tickets, you should have access to merchandise without having to rush over to the store, waste party time waiting in line to buy a pin. Come on Disney. You know how many people bought tickets to have a reasonable amount of merchandise. If they sold enough, then people would buy more than they need and then sell aftermarket for 3x the price.

I just don’t get why Disney does this, all it does is disappoints guests and creates frustration. And makes greedy 3rd party sellers money.

Sorry for the frustration. Just as an FY?I for anybody else attending a future party.....

When we went in November we got our wrist band near PizzeRizzo at 4:30 and were able to immediately get into the merch store. So, while it was 2 hours into the party it was 5 hours or so after they opened up the store. I know party guests w/o an AP or day ticket can't get in until 6 so that wouldn't have been an option for everybody.

Sent you a PM; I will be there Wednesday but won't get in until 6, so if people in early are buying up the stuff it may not be available.

First of all, I agree with you. But if all else fails, go to eBay. I've gotten a few things, non-Disney items as well, that were sold out when I really needed them. You pay a premium but the giftee is happy and you get your life back. :smickey:

The first time is hard but after that it gets easier!

Sadly, in many ways, it's because of the eBayers that the merch gets sold out early and isn't available later - because they buy it up to sell to folks who missed out! Not always, but it's often part of the problem. And for as annoying as it was, we also have sucked it up and bought from eBay.......!!
