Hello everyone!

I know I don't post on here too much but I just wanted to say hello and let you know how totally excited I am! The last time I was on here I was pregnant and planning my fifth trip to DLRP (I was planning on going with friends when the baby was around 6 weeks old). Well that trip never happened as we received massive news at our 20 week scan that our beautiful baby had Spina Bifida, the diagnosis completely turned our world upside down and seeing as we didn't exactly know what the future was going to hold, we decided to cancel our trip.
Anyway that's all done and dusted and our baby (who is now called Florence!) is here and is amazing. I wouldn't change anything about her for the world
I have just applied for voluntary redundancy at work and am due to receive a nice wodge of cash in a few weeks and we're going to use that for our first ever family holiday. There's me, my OH, his two girls (16 & 10), my little girl who's 7 and baby Florence.

I've got loads of questions for you all and have been poring over the restaurant reviews. Is there anything more depressing than reading the reviews from start to finish and see how they're getting progressively worse :confused3 ?! I want to make this cheap as possible so will be looking for loads of tips, I also need to know where we can eat. I have always had atleast one meal a trip at Inventions but reading the latest reviews I just don't think it's worth it! Breakfast at Disneyland Hotel sounds amazing though and think I'll have to do that this time.

Hit me with ideas! I need help!

Earl of Sandwich and get snacks and drinks from the convenience store inside the train station.
I believe you can sign up on the Earl of Sandwich site and get a free sandwich and cookie for birthday peeps (so maybe all your party might be having birthdays in the month you're going to DLP ;)?)

Definitely do Disneyland Hotel breakfast, treat is a brunch and you won't need anything else until evening.

Use counter service and order kids meals - they are just about as big as adult meals at DLP and they are half the price.

I find buffets are good value. I like eating at Restaurant des Stars and Billy Bobs which is tex mex. And children under 3 eat free at buffets:thumbsup2

We share a couple of pizzas and maybe chips / garlic bread in Cafe Mickey! Sooo much cheaper then the set menu costs. Also second getting food at the Casino shop in the train station. Much much cheaper then inside the park.
We have also shared pizza/kids pasta meals in the Sports Bar for a budget supper. Also you get discount vouchers from King Ludwigs for two days later at Rainforest Cafe.
Dont forget to collect the free drinks slips with food purchases in the parks :thumbsup2
I also eat the kids meals from the counter service. They are plenty big and have the added bonus of providing some fruit / dessert ::yes::

Congrats on the arrival of Baby Florence party::welcome:

what sort of stuff can you buy in the Casino shop @ the station?

its like a neighbourhood Spar sort of thing, but it has some fresh bakery items too, and a fresh OJ dispenser, etc.

Its good for picking up snacks for your day in the parks, or on your way back to your hotel for supper etc.

Plenty of premade sandwiches, crisps, salads, chocolate, yoghurts etc and some ready meals including.... wait for it..... lapin à la moutarde. Yep thats rabbit in mustard sauce. Vom. :scared: (not because its Bugs Bunny but because we had rabbit endlessly while we were little and I just can't even entertain the thoughts of it ever again)

Where in the station is this shop? The only one Ive seen is next to the post office but not noticed any fresh produce or sandwiches in there.

as you come into the train station near the post office (from the parks/Village exit), look to your left - this is the RER platforms and ticket office area. At the end of that corridor, you'll see the Casino/Relay store - its much bigger than the one next to the post office.

Welcome baby Florence! Annette's diner is good too and you can share items and go for kids meals. If you are going to the DLH for breakfast do extra magic hours first then go to the hotel for late breakfast it runs til 11 and treat as lunch ;-) enjoy your planning
