I decided about 2 weeks ago to take my daughter and her 2 best friends to Disney in October. Dh was not interested in going and he is busy so I bit the bullet and booked the trip.
We are travelling out of Halifax via Philadelphia to Orlando with US Airways. We are staying at Pop Century with 4 day tickets to Disney, one day park to park at Universal/IOA and tickets for MNSSHP for October 27th.
I am nervous travelling by myself with the 3 girls and will probably be asking for lots of advice to make this trip magical for them.
One of the girls will be turning 16 while we are there and I want to do something special for her, but we are on a tight budget. Any and all ideas are welcome.
How is flying with US Airways via Philadelphia, any tips? Last time we went to Disney we drove to Maine then flew so it's been a long time since I flew out of Halifax.
Looking forward to getting some great information from this board.

Flying through PHL should be fine ... how long is the layover? And what time do you depart from Halifax?

Leaving Halifax at 6:54 with an hour and a half layover in Philadelphia on the way down (Terminal C to B) arriving in Orlando at 12:47. I'm more worried about the return trip with a 45 min layover and having to go from Terminal B to Terminal F via a shuttle? We leave Orlando at 10:20 and back to Halifax by 4:22. Then the long drive home (5 hours) so the girls can get to school the next day!

leaving Halifax at that time is fine. Basically 5am at the airport and you will be fine. Yes, I know, they suggest 3 hours early ... oh well. I assume you will stay overnight near the airport and use a park and fly? By the sounds of it, you've got PHL figured out. Terminal C to B is a quick walk. The return will involve the shuttle, but you have more time and the shuttles are frequent! The only thing that could cause any trouble is a late departure in your first flight of the day, that's it.
