I called Hojo today. Finally a Kids Suite open up for our date of travel on August 25th to the 28th.. I'm excited..

Now I heard that DL table service food is not that great compare to WDW. However I have Ariel's Grotto reservation. I was wondering if you guy have suggestion for counter service? TIA

I love Hungry Bear. Though they switched their fries out recently for sweet potato fries (not as delicious) their club sandwiches are good

we just ate at Ariels last night...wow was it ever good!! we both had the tri tip. Even though Cafe Orleans is not counter service, it is very good, and not expensive! their gumbo is so yummy!! in the same area, the French Market is counter service but their food is not as good IMHO The Plaza Inn is one of our favorites, the chicken dinner is the best! and hubby and I always share because it is just too much for one person! We like the Carnation Cafe better than the Riverbelle Terrace for breakfast. Riverbelle is counter service Carnation is not. Even if the line looks long to get into Carnation, it really moves quite quickly! and a nice thing hubby and I found out today....we got into the back of the line ready to wait, but she came along asking everyone how many in their party, everyone else had 3 or more, so hubby and I got to go right in!! They also have very good lunches there. Time to head back to the park,will try to reply more later....

My favourites are Bengal Barbeque and Rancho del Zocalo. The kebabs from Bengal Barbeque make a nice snack if you don't want a meal of them.

I love the gumbo at Royal Veranda and I love the chocolate mud cup (forget the real name) at Tomorrowland Terrace...This is what it looks like:

DCA - Taste Pilot's Grill
DL - Redd Rockett's Pizza Port

:wizard:

I like the Troubador place (can't remember it's exact name) by the Princess Fantasy Faire. The food is good (varieties of stuffed baked potatoes and such) but the best part is the location. It's this nice shaded area that's not super crowded and you can sit back and eat while overlooking the princess coronation ceremony and storytelling for entertainment.

Hungry Bear and the new menu....love the fried tomato sandwich!

Pacific Wharf Cafe...love the soup and salad in a bread bowl!

having eaten at many WDW restaurants, I think Ariel's is as good if not better than a lot of the WDW restaurants I have eaten at. My last meal at Chefs de France was horrible. (and it was my birthday!) I would go to Ariel's--did you get the World of Color package? which makes it even better!

I really like the Bengal Barbeque also; while you don't get as much food as you would at some of the other counter-service restaurants, the price is extremely reasonable. Pacific Wharf and Harbour Galley are both really great, as well, as long as you like the soup-in-bread-bowl meal.

Oh gosh, that chocolate parfait looks amazing. I don't know why, but I've always avoided the Tomorrowland Terrace. It just looks eh, okay, but nothing spectacular. I may have to check out their desserts however.

it's AMAZING!!! I always eat it every trip. It's chocolate mouse, vanilla mouse, chocolate pudding, oreos...oh my goodness it's heaven and not to rich at all

My fav CS are: Plaza Inn for their Penne Pasta, Stage Door Cafe - Fish and chips, Royal Street Veranda - Gumbo, French Market - good food, but a little pricey for CS, and Tomorrowland Terrace - just good food. CA I like Pacific Wharf Cafe for their chilli, and Award Wieners for their hotdogs.

Our go to CS's are:

DL = Plaza Inn
DCA = Pacific Wharf Cafe

Not counter service, but our very favorite must eat place is Cafe Orleans! The gumbo and fries are to die for!!!

Like several OP's have mentioned...Cafe Orleans is awesome!

If I had to pick one place in each park though...
DL - Bengal BBQ
DCA - Pacific Wharf

Next month we want to try the new Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta place in DCA.

For a snack, the bacon/asparagus skewers at Bengal Barbecue are delish :) Also, pommes frites at Cafe Orleans.

My favorites are the "Count down" chicken fusilli pasta at Red Rocket Pizza Port. It doesn't look that great but it's delicious. Also, I like the BLT flatbread pizza from the Village Haus.
