I have a Royal Caribbean cruise in June and waited for the Black Friday sale to start today to buy my shore excursions for CoCo Cay. Three of us wanted to do the water park and two the CoCo Cay Beach Club.

Those two excursions were 50% off today as part of the Black Friday sale. That is an additional 30% off compared to normal sale prices or a total of $283.50 saved.

Anyone else found a great deal already?

You gotta watch RCI and their "sales". They have been known to mark up the "normal" prices, so when they put them on "sale", you're paying the same amount. That being said, we benefited last year for items on a cruise this past July.

No, because I have to wait until my check comes in in December to buy Christmas gifts. Black Friday is meaningless to me.

I'm hiking on Black Friday. I need a new laptop, but I can get a good discount through work. There isn't anything I really want to buy.

I guess I'm buckling down given the potential for a recession next year. If one hits, I will get a lot of great deals like I did during the las tone.

I agree with RedAngie. However, I got a great deal on a countertop ice maker. Love it!

My wife wants a new Kindle for Christmas. They were on sale yesterday (only) for $94.99, $34 dollars off regular price. If I signed up for a Amazon Prime trial next day shipping was free. If I selected 7 day shipping it was also free. Picked that. Got a e-mail last night that they had bumped up arrival date from next Friday to next Wednesday. Today I got an e-mail saying arrival date is now tomorrow....yep free 2 day shipping.

It seems like most Black Friday sales are on things I‘m rarely in the market to buy like electronics and small appliances and such. The vast majority of my Christmas shopping is for toys and I put together a wishlist around August/September and start buying items as I see prices drop. Every year is the same — prices start rising towards the end of October or beginning of November, then they go “on sale” for Black Friday back to what they were originally, or a little higher. I try to have all the gift wrapping done prior to December so I really don’t like waiting until Black Friday to shop. Still, there’s always a few items that get left on the wishlist all the way to Black Friday because they didn’t have an earlier price drop and I think there’s a chance they might actually go on sale due to being a name brand or a “hot toy.” I don’t think that strategy has ever worked out for me and yet I keep falling for it. This year it’ll be the robot Sox from Lightyear that I end up paying full price for and wrapping last.

Nope, not really. Don't really need anything. I will probably buy some gift cards that come with bonus's, but that is about it.

I really haven't seen anything... but I haven't particularly looked either. It seems like the last few years, the deals just haven't been there and a lot of the fun of the hunt had faded even before the pandemic. We're not doing much holiday shopping this year; this is my sons' second Christmas out on their own so once again they'll be getting home improvement and grocery/gas gift cards, plus DH is taking them and our nephew to a hockey game over the holidays. I'm taking my girls to NOLA between Christmas and New Years as their big gift, and we already gave MIL her present because the dishwasher she'd hoped would make it through the holidays gave up the ghost and we thought replacing it before Thanksgiving would make for a better gift than having it as a surprise on Christmas.

I did pick up a couple pairs of concert tickets on LiveNation's holiday BOGO offer, to see Elle King in March and Yungblud in July. Not as gifts for anyone, just because those are shows we'd talked about going to anyway.

Peloton started their Black Friday sale yesterday. I got the tread and the rower. I already have the bike. Tread comes on Wednesday. Rower is still on preorder its new estimate delivery time is 5 weeks. Thinking about the guide so I will have everything they offer. So I’m not looking into buying anything else.

I have already purchased some items that sellers called Black Friday deals. As of now there is nothing else I am planning to buy. While I don’t plan to actively look, you never know what you might happen upon!

I did mine already.
Walmart for Yankee Candles....ordered yesterday and they were delivered yesterday.
Penney's......that one has all arrived, in 4 separate deliveries

I have a lot of amazon digital credit I need to spend so waiting for that but in general.....

NO. One year I had a list of things I bought on Amazon throughout the year and waited to
see if they went cheaper on Black Friday and maybe 1 did. If anything after Christmas sales
are good.

I will say i'm waiting to see if any streaming subscriptions go on sale. When Amazon had their 99c
a month for several channels It was great so I want to see that again....and maybe giftcards.

My TV started acting funny on Wednesday night. The bottom half of the screen got “stuck” and then was a few seconds behind the top half.

DH whacked it a few times, then disconnected all the cables, reconnected them and hit restart. After a few attempts it started working properly again.

The TV is about 11 years old and it might soon be time for a new one. Do Walmart and other places still do those Black Friday doorbusters for TVs? The off brand ones where people have fistfights over?

Nah, I’m not willing to get into a melee at 6am on Friday after waiting outside for an hour.

Oh, and my current TV is kind of a Black Friday deal. We bought it on the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It was regular price and we were hesitant, but the saleslady told us if we returned BF afternoon she’d refund the sale price difference. So we bought it that day and returned for the price adjustment.

This was at Boscov’s department store when they still had an electronics section. They discontinued such products a year or two later.
