We are planning our first WDW trip for Sept 21-28. It will be my husband, 9 year old and 7 year old girls and 2 year old boy. We are hoping to surprise the girls with the trip. They honk we aren't going until next Spring. We are using a travel agent to help us book everything, but I am still pretty overwhelmed. Every time I think I have picked a resort, I see something that makes me second guess myself! LOL! We are crossing our fingers for free dining, but have questions about that too. Basically, I am just overwhelmed and confused and will be obsessing over these boards a lot!! LOL!! {Janell}

*** so overwhelmed that I can't even spell overwhelmed in my subject!! LOL!***

I know exactly how you feel - and it's not even my first trip. We haven't done Disney since 2009, and I know changes have been made since then, so like you I have been checking threads for any new info. that might help me plan our trip. I just bought the 2014 Unofficial Guide for the updates, and so far it is a great read - if you haven't heard of it/read it I would consider checking it out. I used it for our first trip and it made so many choices easier - as did the folks here on the boards. :goodvibes

Hi and welcome!

OK, here's where the mom/math teacher in me kicks in.

I know how overwhelming this whole process is. It's unlike any vacation you've ever planned before. Everywhere else, you book your hotel, book your flight, and find a book to read by the pool. Here, you're talking about ADRs and FastPass+ and Pins and discounts and dining, and you're afraid you'll miss the one thing that would MAKE your kids' vacation had you only been quick enough to book it.

Am I close?

The reality is that you, your husband and your kids are going to have the time of your lives, regardless of what you book and what you miss. And that there will be some wonderful things they would have enjoyed that you're simply not going to get to this vacation; they'll have to see them next time or the time after that.

Which resorts are you considering?

For what it's worth, your girls will probably love a princess meal-- take a look at dinner at 1900 Park Fare (at the Grand Floridian, easy to reach from the Magic Kingdom via monorail-- which your son will consider a ride in and of itself.) Also consider any meal (we loved a late-- 10:30ish-- breakfast, since all the breakfast foods were familiar) at Aukerhaus in Epcot.

Also, if your son isn't afraid of the characters, consider Chef Mickey's.

OUr new family favorite meal is dinner at Cape May (in the Beach Club, an easy 5 minute walk from International Gateway in Epcot.)
