Anybody else out there excited about owning at BLT but bummed out that they didn't wait until this current incentive (equating to up to $16 off per point!). We bought our add on when it was $107 per point ($112-$5 incentive) and developer points.

Anybody else feel the same way??:confused3

I bought BLT in December, and am buying GCV now. I know the extra discount would be nice, but for the 100 points we bought then, this deal effectively values our DP's at $9 per point. I don't think that's too bad. And obviously my reaction to wanting the current deal is to just buy more!!

While this deal is definitely appealing... I have no regrets. I don't know if we'd have ever planned to go on a Disney Cruise... but because of that incentive I already have our first DCL trip booked for 11/18/2010 WOOHOO! The planning bug already has a hold of me and that's still a year and a half away. No time for disappointment here... just time for obsessive planning.

I don´t feel so bad, because we bought 250 at BLT with the $5 discount and get a full week staying with DP´s that could not be paid with the amount I would be saved with the current discount. It would be $2,250, so, in no way I could pay a week with that money.

And the most important as we buy soon, we got our September reservation with a MK wiew. I don´t think ppl buying now can get that reservation.

Hmmmmm.... well, to be honest and after doing the math, I accept that I am a little disappointed as for the amount we paid for our 250 points, with the new discount we would get 272 points

....... but not an extra week at SSR. ;)

However I can still make an add-on for the extra 25 for just $2,450........

The ink just dried on our signing for 125 points of VGC last week (March 26th) so we are calling our guide this morning to see if we can change things.

Although we are still in the cancellation period, we aren't in a registered state/province for DVC . . . so we may be stuck with $5 off per point instead of $8 if the paperwork requires us being present to make this change.

Oh well, at least for all the difficulting buying into VGC (last moment flights to Chicago's Doorway to Dreams), we actually did get VGC. Can't say that we're too upset at this new deal, even if it would have saved us $475 USD were we to have bought today and not last Thursday.

How do you figure 25 points for $2,450? Are there discounts for 25 point contracts?

I got the 5.00 off per point and DP that I used for 3 night Concierge at the GC..so although the lower cost would have been nice, I'm glad I got my original deal and will get to try Concierge which I would have never paid for. No regrets here!

That was my first reaction, but then I looked at the value we're getting out of our developer points, and we're getting over $1000 more value than we would have saved with the bigger discount. I'm pretty happy overall - incentives will come and go, but I knew I had to be happy with the purchase regardless of the incentives, and I am. So - it's great that it's out there for new buyers, but my deal works for me. :thumbsup2

The new incentives are good, but like others, there's alot to be said for being an early purchaser at BLT.

Our name will be on the Tempo Fountain as BLT founding members, I used my DP's for a girls trip to Vegas last month (deposited thru II before the switch) and we booked on the first day of reservations and have a MK view studio booked for F&WF and Christmas.:thumbsup2

I held back from being the first one to buy BLT because of how AKV was handled. All the founding members got the short end on AKV so I did wait for BLT until additional incentives were offered and I was still able to get Founding status.

What are the current incentives? My wife and I took the tour last week and my guide is out of the office today. We are planning on purchasing 236 points. We were offered $5 off per point, and equivalent points that need to be used by October 3 or banked in the world passport. Is there something better I need to be looking at?

BTW we are purchasing BLT.

Depending on whether or not you'd like to keep the developer points (DPs) or take a few extra dollars off of the purchase price.

Good luck

I took the cruise incentive and I am not disappointed. Like the previous post, I am not sure if we would ever have taken a cruise. Now we are booked Thanksgiving week. We paid $1200 to upgrade to cat 4 and to add a 5th person. I am still ok with our choice. Pricing out the cruise it is close to $8000 for the four nights. :thumbsup2

The grass is always greener. You can wait yourself to death. Etc., etc., etc..

Any number of cliches apply here.

I'm just happy to be an owner. :)

I, too, am thrilled with the cruise. We only added on 102 points so it's just for three nights but I have read so many great things about it, that I can't wait to go next February. There's no way DH would have chose the cruise if he could have saved upfront $$$, and I highly doubt I could have talked him into a Disney cruise, his feelings are too many kids in a confined space and a much higher per person, per day cost. We're going on a seven night Norwegian cruise in September, and I think it will be great, but I am most looking forward to the three night Disney cruise.

Nope,...... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: there are not discounts for 25 points..... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

But, that give me a reason to add on 100 pts. on a new resort (GCV) instead of adding on my home resort!!! :cool1:

Hmmmmm....... but just if I convince DH................ :upsidedow

Yes, I know we (those who got $5 off p/p + DP´s) receive a bigger incentive than the new................

but in the long term............. it would be better to have a bigger amount of points for the rest of our membership...........
