Ok, now we are an on-property kind of family - the wilderness lodge and animal kingdom lodge are our favorites!!! Since we tried staying onsite years ago, we've never even considered staying offsite.

BUT, this next trip is a combination business and pleasure trip - My husband's business is putting us up at the Hyatt Grand Cypress. It looks to be a beautiful hotel - but we'll be missing our favorites, and all the benefits of staying on site (EMH, not having to drive our car, free parking, etc).

Help! Tell me something good about the Hyatt or staying offsite - there must be benefits and special things to do, right??

Anything info on teh Hyatt Grand Cypress? The pool looks beautiful, that's one plus! Can I make room requests?? Should I??

Really - anything about this hotel or staying offsite would be greatly appreciated!

Can't wait to hear from ya'll!!:goodvibes

I havent stayed at Hyatt Grand Cypress but I stayed at Hyatt Orlando and it was really nice, the complimentary breakfast was good. Bagels, english muffins, white and wheat bread, fruits, oatmeals, cereals, coffees, juice, milk. Jelly, butter, peanut butter. We really enjoyed our stay. I would google reviews on that hotel..

Its a great hotel. Great pool, location...everything. This will give you a chance to maybe explore some more of the area around 535 or all of Orlando that you may not have known was there. There is much more to Orlando than Disney, GASP! haha. Try some off site restaurants, or golf, etc....

Thanks everyone! I think I'll got spend some quality time with google - seeing if i can dig up any reviews!

We normally stay on property but my parents are going with us and I wanted them to get the most for their money so we are staying at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for 2 weeks this summer. We stayed here back in 1999 and thought the hotel was great. We can't wait to go back. They are doing a $65 million renovation to the hotel but we were told that it would not affect us at all. When I spoke to the lady on the phone to request a renovated room she stated it would be an additional $100.00 per night.:scared1: She also told me to wait until we check in and request it then at no charge. :confused3 Not that we are guaranteed to get the renovated room at check in but it's always worth a shot. The resort sits on 1500 acres with a lot of activities, the pool is awesome and the lobby looks great. Also, if you need a refrigerator, it will be an additional $25.00 per stay, and you can request that in advance or when you check in. There is a Hertz Desk on property if you need to rent a car as well. There are a lot of restaurants in the area as well. I think you will like the resort.

We stayed here two years ago and loved it!! Very nice and I believe they are in the process of renovating all the rooms. My boys loved the pool, par 3 golf course, rock climbing wall and bike rentals. We had a blast!

It seems to get very good reviews on tripadvisor. You can also check out photos taken by guests on tripadvisor. I like seeing "real" photos verses the deceptive wide angle professional photos that seem to hide the bad things.

Also don't forget to register for a Hyatt Gold Passport account (FREE!) since sometimes just having an account could mean the difference in an upgrade or not. Since hubby's company is paying make sure it is his name on the Gold Passport Account.
