Thanks! I take her to her cardiologist Tuesday. She has another blockage that she has to decide whether to have a stint put in or treat it medically. Not an easy decision for her.

If you were able to learn how to do one thing, what would it be? (Ex.square dancing, learning another language....)?

I'd like to learn to decorate cakes, but I'd also love to develop my scrapbooking skills...I would love to take a few classes!

To the people that want to learn sign language...you should...I took asl in college for two semesters and it was awesome!

Growing up, we had the day off of school. Now, we have the day off of school and work, and we barbeque. Pretty pathetic given ALL the military in our familes, curernt and past! They deserve more! Many thanks!!

We didn't do anything special growing up. Sometimes we had the day off from school and sometimes we didn't. We don't really do anything special now either though sometimes we do get together with family.

Thanks! I'll let you know. We spent the afternoon with her and my aunt. My aunt is here for awhile to help out. It was so nice of her to come and give me a little break. My mom was in good spirits and getting around fairly well though she tires easily.

My goodness, there are a few--in the shopping center near my house, we lost a Circuit City & a Linens & Things in December--those 2 big stores are still empty. Every time I go to the mall, a few other stores are gone. We have lots of shopping malls here in Long Island, and I've never seen so many empty stores in my life.

Not much new stuff--there is a Panera Bread opening soon.

I was born on January 25,1961!!! Yes I know I'm OLD!!!Ever since I was a little girl I always wished my b-day was in the summer because many a b-day party almost ALWAYS got canceled because of bad weather!!! Now I just say to my DH now that now that I'm OLDER I can spend my day someplace warm with a margarita in my hand and my toes in the sand!!! That makes me love my b-day now!!

One of my 7 nieces has a birthday in December--Dec. 27th to be exact. When she was little, her birthday got lost in the holiday shuffle--so a few years ago, we started celebrating her birthday Memorial Day weekend. She celebrates with her mom, dad & little sister on her day (sometimes Grandpa & I join since we all live in NY), and with her friends sometime during the Christmas school holiday. Then the family uses that as an excuse to get together & celebrate the beginning of summer with a pool party. My sister, BIL & their kids & my other sister come from VA, sometimes one of my brothers comes with his family. We make a big weekend out of it. In fact, I'm still recovering from this years!
