My sisters favorite is Dumbo and she would love the flying involved. But I see her more as Piglet as she is so small.

I think I'd like to be Chip or Dale. They always seem to be having fun!
I'd have to be a short character..I'm only 5' tall!!

I don't play games at a carnival.

Me either, they always seemed rigged to me! No one ever seems to win. My kids used to always want to play something but now I make them use their own money and they realize it's a waste of their money.

Only the goldfish ping pong game. We have a pond, so if we win, they go to a good home.

We play various games so that my daughter can win those cheapy dolls that gets tossed out a few months after :sad2: .

In the regional exchange I received an English cookbook. I will share a recipe from it.

Yorkshire Pudding
4 oz. flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 medium eggs
1/2 pint milk and water mixed
2 tablespoons beef dripping, from the roasting pan.

Prepare the batter by placing the flour and salt into a large bowl. Make a well in the centre and break the eggs into this. Using a wooden spoon or an electric whisk, beat the eggs and gradually add the milk and water, incorporating the flour a little at a time. Beat until the batter is smooth and leave to stand in a cool place for about one hour.
Remove the roast beef from the oven and keep warm or transfer to a lower shelf. Raise the oven temperature to 425º Place the beef dripping in an 11"x7" roasting pan and place in the oven until very hot, by which time the oven will have reached the higher temperature. Remove from the oven and pour the batter into the pan. Return to a high shelf in the oven and cook for approximately 25 minutes until risen, golden brown and crisp. Cut into squares and serve immediately.

Since it is Boy's Day, here is a recipe that I made for it.

Baked Mochi
1 pound mochiko-(16oz.box)-mochiko is Japanese flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
2 cups water
1 can coconut milk-(12 oz.)
1 tsp. vanilla
food coloring-red or green

Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add water and coconut milk gradually until well mixed. Add in the vanilla and a few drops of the food coloring. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Cover tightly with foil. Place the pan in the center of the oven. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. Uncover and cool for several hours. Cut into squares using a plastic knife and coat the mochi lightly with mochiko so that it does not stick to each other.

Yum, what do you eat at the Pho restaurant?

We don't have a family favorite, but we like Chinese, Japanese, and other types of foods.

I love me some Won Ton soup - It's different than at a Chinese Restaurant, and for the main course I usually have Braised pork and shrimp over rice vermicelli and vegetables. I love their iced tea too, it's Jasmine! Ian always gets nearly the same thing, but instead of pork & shrimp it's pork and eggroll. SO GOOD!

You guys are making me hungry!:)

I've got 2 sickies home from school today. DS6 had his tonsils/adenoids taken out on Friday so he's home for a week. (I'll be insane by then, so if the posts start looking a bit strange....) DS10 has a fever. I'm hoping they both feel too sick to bother each other.

I saw the post about the carnival games...and the goldfish. I always complain that those Carny goldfish you win live forever!
