Wow, that is a majar back up situation
.

Why they let the semis get on a snow/ice covered highway is beyond me. There were so many jack-knifed semi that the road crews could not get the roads cleaned up.Wow, that is a majar back up situation.
I have never been in a snow or snow storm situation, so here is some questions that I have been wondering about.
*Do you stock up any any type of particular food or drinks?
*Was there ever a time that you were not able to leave your house?

*What goes on with the newspaper, mail delivery....?
*Since you aren't able to go to work....what happens-I am assuming you don't get paid during those days.

No.

Yes the doors were drifted shut, John had to climb out the front window so he could remove the snow.

Never had mail not get to us. We do not get the paper.

When I worked I didn't get paid. John does not get paid unless he decides to use a sick or vacation day.
Brrrr, that is really cold.![]()
When it snows, or is expected to snow, everyone runs to the store here to buy what my friend calls "french toast ingredients" : bread, milk and eggs! The shelves are empty!
This is what most big cities do. Buffalo, NY dumps the snow in the same lake it came out of.Here's an interesting tidbit---in Lancaster, they have no where to put all the snow they plow out of the streets and parking lots when we get a big snow! They have to haul it away!
I did not know that you lived in the City of Lancaster. We are just south of you. We had to drive through the city yesterday to get my staples out and boy were the streets horrible. Our little township had ours down to the road. We did have some drifting. It took us a half an hour to go from Kendig sq to James street on route 222.
I thought you said "It's really cold"....I was going to laugh. My sister-in-law always talks about how cold it is...in the Bahamas!...when it drops to 60.
Hello everyone! I'm still deciding on whether or not I should host an exchange. If I did, I like the idea of a rainbow exchange sometime in the late spring-early summer. I'd like to know, has it been done before?
