Exchanged to Mexico?

Has anybody had any experiences trading their points to stay in Mexico? I'd like to know where people have stayed, how many points it cost, and whether it was a good experience.

I have not exchanged there using DVC but have otherwise. 2 years ago we exchanged into VCI (Vacation Club International) in Cancun. It is the oldest of the Royal resorts. We toured or walked around all of the other 4 Royals in Cancun. They are all great resorts in their own way. While VCI was below DVC in some ways, it was still a great resort. I would however hesitate about exchanging in with DVC as you can likely do even better.

We also own at Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta though we haven't been there yet. I have a friend that owns there and have talked to likely over 2 dozen people that have stayed there. That info along with the TUG rating makes it easy to recommend as well. There are many other very good resorts in MX though I think you'll find the ones I mentioned are the best overall. There are a couple in Cabo that I've heard would fit into this group but have no first hand experience there.

As for how many points. You're looking at likely Dream or Magic for Xmas to Easter and Adventure points for spring to fall for OKW for the same size unit. Possibly HH adventure points as well.

Have not used DVC to exchange into Mexico either, but agree with the resort selections posted by Dean.
The Royals are the best in Cancun and have heard nice comments about Paradise Village.
