Exchanged discounted CDN vouchers for normal tix (without linking to MDE)

When the CDN deals came out, I decided to purchase a few to use sometime in the future. I got 4 sets of 10 day base tickets as well as a 7 day ticket I redeemed via air miles. So I had 5 green exchange vouchers between the 4 of us. I was in Disney at the end of August (with other tickets I had already purchased). At the end of my trip, I decided to stop into guest relations in Disney Springs to show our passports and exchange our tickets.

I had everyone's passports but sent my family off to get something to eat after confirming it was OK with the CM.

She verified our passports and exchanged all 5 vouchers for normal tickets. We briefly discussed linking the tix to my MDE but then I told her that I preferred not to and she had no issues with that. I was fully prepared to link them to my alternate IDs in MDE. (I also have nonexpiring tickets in my MDE and do not want the wrong tickets used when entering the parks).

So now I have 5 normal tickets on plastic cards. As far as I can tell, they are fully transferable and not linked to my name in any way. I am glad as this will give me options in case I need to sell them. I don't plan to sell them, but who knows, right?

Also, when I bought the tix (over the phone direct from Disney), I was told I had to bring the CC used to purchase them when I exchanged the vouchers. I didn't and was never asked for anything.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I know there are a few others here on the boards who have wondered about doing this very thing (and then potentially transferring the tickets to someone else) Your experience will be invaluable.

You're welcome! I know I had tons of questions myself before and after I bought the tickets and everyone here was very helpful with their data points. To be honest, I am still surprised she gave me the tickets without having to link them to MDE.

Now you have me wondering
If you have done the exchange have hard tickets. Next when you goto use them do you think you could bridge and update

Ooo..interesting. As far as I can tell, no. Even with a hard ticket, they know how much I paid for the ticket (since I purchased directly from Disney). So I don't think they would price bridge. Without price bridging, upgrading will be absolutely not worth it.

Who knows though...a few years from now, Disney may decide to allow price bridging against and then I'd be able to upgrade. In the meantime, I am satisfied with the 10 day base tickets I purchased and can see myself using them some years from now...perhaps combined with an offsite stay (although I definitely prefer onsite). I have been spoilt with hoppers recently, but not enough that I would willingly pay much extra for it so I stuck with base tickets.
