We just got back yesterday. We had 10 counter service meals left. When we had breakfast the cashier said we could get 3 snacks in exchange for each counter service credit that was left.

He bagged up 30 Mickey head rice crispy treats and we carried them on the plane home.

Is this usual??

I was just reading a review on All Ears and they said they did the same thing. The review is from '09.

if anyone rings my bell for Halloween they are in for a treat!

It's unfortunate, and not a very good use of credits. Each Rice Krispie Treat has a unit cost for Disney of about 10-15 cents. You could have gotten up to $5 on some snacks, let alone $15 in some CS locations for one CS credit. Disney got the better end of that deal.

we had free dining so I feel like we got a good deal :)

We were literally one foot out the door to the airport.

We were at BLT a few weeks ago. On our check out day, the CM at the Contemporary cafe told me the same thing. We had 1 or 2 counter service credits left and she told me I could just get 3 snacks in place of each one. It was good for us because I was able to get a bunch of fruit for the plane ride home.

You got lucky, I've been told no when I tried to do that the last three times.

Last May I shared a room with a fellow DISer who had to leave the day before I did. On her last day she had four CS meals left. She tried to trade them in for snacks at the bakery in DS, but was told it had to be done at the resort. We ran back to CSR where she spoke with guest services and was told they couldn't do anything, but for her to check at CAfe Rix to see what they could do. At Cafe Rix she was told she could trade them in for snacks, but it would be a 1 for 1 trade. All she got for those four CS credits were four Snickers bars. That could be because the food places at CSR are not ran by Disney though.

We did a trade. I think it was 3 snacks for 1 meal credit. I can't remember. We grabbed around 40 things because we still had a bunch of snack credits left too. It was lovely. We didn't have to stop for food on the drive home so we knocked off some time!

We used ours at All Star Movies.

We do the same...anytime we have credits left over we gather up a bunch of snacks to take home.

Has anyone had any luck switching TS to CS? Due to late arrival and early departure times, I've only scheduled 5 meals (7 nights, one of those will be a signature) so we'll have one TS meal for 4 of us left. I'd love to be able to switch them to CS because we usually end up paying OOP for one or two of them anyway. If not, no biggie, just thought I'd see if anyone's been able to do it.

Yes, we were also able to exchange 1 ts for 1 cs.

CSR resort does not do this. It is one for one. All other resorts do though. So I usually by food to eat at the air port while we are waiting to board or on the airplane home. I think BW was the other resort who did not do this as well.
