I ordered some t-shirts from the disneyshopping.com. They just arrived with UPS and I had to pay some import charges, totalling £18.77 (£7.77 import vat and £11 brokerage surcharge).
The declared value of the package is only $53.51
In other words I'm paying about 70% charges
That's a bit unreasonable right?

Diisneyshopping.com used to use dhl -their admin fee was only £1.75 !

This happened to my dh last week when he ordered a lens for his camera. Cost him another £52.00 in total.

Shocking ~ I've recently ordered dvds from an American site. I'm expecting a BIG charge when they eventually arrive.

Fingers crossed for you ~ Let us know how you get on.

That does seem a lot.

It does seem a lot but they all do it. Fed Ex invoiced my parents 2 months after they purchased something from the States for me & I have paid £11 fee to Parcel force. If it comes by courier you will always pay yet if it comes standard mail it is always hit & miss as to whether you get charged.

I quite like the idea of Amazon.com you can pay an estimate duty on an item when ordering & when it is delivered if it is more they will waiver the costs & if it is less they will refund the difference.
