We are thinking of buying PAP for our trip in January because friends of ours want to go in December and we would go too. We would go for DIS CON and they would meet us after that.

What do you love about your AP/PAP???

Best benefit?

Is there going to be a DIS CON #3???

Approx. dates???

Thanks

I have a regular AP...and love it.

You can get some good discounts on hotels and other stuff. Also, some private stuff like pass holder pins and memorabilia, and events. Best feature, is that it assures me a trip back down within a year, wouldn't want to waste all those freebies:rolleyes:

I do not know about official DIS Con, but there is nothing stopping people from planning there own!!! I know I am sure hoping something in some form happens :)

What we love about having AP's (we buy them to get 2 trips out of them) is being able to go to a park any time you feel like it, without feeling like you're wasting a hopper day. If we only want to go for an hour or two in one day, we can!

I don't have an AP to WDW, but I have one for the DL resort. What I like most about it is the same as Erika's reason - we can go to a park for dinner, or just a few hours, without feeling like we are wasting a day on a park hopper like we feel at WDW. It also encourages more trips - we have it, we should use it, right?

Our (unexpectedly) favorite thing about our PAP was the DisneyQuest option. We went almost every day! It was a great afternoon escape from the heat (we went in August) and I could curl up on a couch in the wonderland cafe while the boys played.

The very best thing (as someone else in this thread mentioned) is not feeling obligated to stay from open-to-close at any place we visited, since we could come and go at will. I was much more relaxed knowing I wasn't 'throwing money away' by leaving Typhoon Lagoon at noon. (Say that 10 times fast~!)

I love the savings it provides. I got a great resort rate with my regular AP for my DIS CON trip (I think it was about 45% off at Poly concierge). As others said, I also love the fact that I don't have to worry about wasting park hopper days by spending less than a full day in the parks. :)

We like:

Longer trips...in Augest we went for 15 days and that previous November 12 days. Thats 27 on one pass, you can't do that with a regular pass. Fewer long trips are nice...

If we could manage 8 days or more a year at WDW, I'd buy one in a second:D ....

Everything listed so far!

I miss my AP - I haven't had one in a year - I knew last year would be an off year for WDW trips & this year, we will only be doing 5 or 6 days in WDW, although we are in Orlando for 12 ( doing USF/IOA, BGT,SW etc... the other days)
It's killing me to think we have to buy Hoppers & "waste" a day admission if we only go to the Parks for a few hours....
Besides, I got really spoiled by those wonderful AP resort rates....

Sounds great guys... I didn't know that we could get such a great Deal on the miniature golf. The shopping and parking discounts make it an even better deal.

Thanks for all the info.

I might get hooked...;)

I just bought an AP this year, and without a doubt, the best benefit (at least the first year) is to FINALLY have gotten to the preview of the Osborne Lights, with the cocoa, cider, and cookies (even though I thought the cookies weren't too great, it was the idea). To go to that has been a dream of mine for years. And the AP lounge last summer-let's hope they have another one this year.

We ordered the PAPs today from the Disney Store...

I even put up the timer for the December trip already. I really hope there will be a DisCon 2003 !!!

Come and go into the parks as you please, and not worry about making sure you budget your days.

I bought an AP this year for the first time knowing I was going to DIS CON, and went 5 days last February. An added bonus was the 4 days I spent there in June - which wasn't planned at the time I purchased the AP. I figure I got my money's worth for the 16 days I was in the parks - let alone the free parking and all the discounts I got. If I really put pencil to paper, I figure I saved in discounts and perks what the ticket cost me!

I'm hoping we can find out if my DH is having brain surgery this year before I have to renew it or let it go. Can't make any plans until we know about his surgery. Sure hope I can renew it - for his sake as well as mine.
