Eww my dog has worms.

How is this possible? Besides the vet he doesn't go near other dogs? I just happened to notice them when I picked up his poop Is this something that has to be treated at the vet or can I get something at the store for this??? I am currently to poor right nowbut grossed out by it. I can't stop itching now. How contagious is it to my cats?

I would get the dog to the vet as soon as possible. It could be something they picked up outside. Heartworms are spread through mosquitoes for example.

Should i keep his poop to take to the vet? He won't get in till after 4.
Does Heartworm comeout his poop?I thought that was tapeworm?

Yes, they can pick up these things just about anywhere.

Ours had picked up the little whiteworm tapeworms. DH stopped by the vet and picked up some tablets. They didn't even ask to see our dog! Just went by what DH told them.

That took care of it.
