Evidence wdw is setting record attendance numbers?

Original premise of this thread is interesting...does the OP believe that Disney is lying about attendance numbers, possibly to mask that attendance is actually going down based on discontent with the FP+ system?

Not that I think they are...but I'm wondering if that is the premise. Wouldn't they get into some trouble down the road if they are lying about attendance.

Despite FP+ growing pains and the complaining in the forums here, the overall public perception of FP+ is quite good, so I don't think Disney has a need to lie about attendance. As far as getting into trouble, Disney is not obligated to divulge attendance and I don't think they do. Their obligation is to their shareholders, and as long as Disney corporate and Disney Parks perform well, regardless of park attendance, the shareholders will be satisfied.

IF the figures are down, what is to say its definitely related to FP+?

There are many things repeat visitors to WDW are less than happy about currently. Including:
  • Lack of new attractions
  • Lack of parks upkeep/maintenance
  • Price for what you get
  • Reduced entertainment/parades
  • General reduction in "Disney Magic"

The things you listed bother me more than FP+.

I totally understand the financial wisdom in staying off-site...also the much more spacious accommodations. But for some of us...staying at a Disney Resort is *at least* half the magicpixiedust: of a Disney vacation. There's no right or wrong, really. Just different people put different value on different things.
