Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

Looking for tips/advice for the Christmas Wishes fireworks special during MVMCP at 9:30. I know there is a parade at 8~ and people will probably linger in the prime area for the fireworks. I plan to hit the rides during the first parade and watch the second one after Wishes. When I get back to the main area, I'm assuming the better locations will have people there already due to the earlier parade - so I'm looking for suggestions on other alternatives for the fireworks

We just booked La Nouba for the First Tuesday in December. I'm excited, I think La Nouba is the only thing that we haven't experienced in all the years we have visiting the WDW Resort. I booked the 9PM show since the choices for seats was a little better. I received the 30% La Nouba club discount. I later found the AP discount of 35%, but I'm ok with what I did. I was able to book, purchase and print our tickets online.

You can see pictures of our view, our spot in line, etc. in my trip report, HERE. :thumbsup2

I just wanted to chime in to say that I am reading your trip report now and it is fantastic!! Love the pictures and writing!

We head to the GF in just 10 DAYS!!!

I found La Nouba a bit darker than a lot of other Cirque du Soleil shows, I've seen more than ten of them, but it was still a fantastic show. That is a fabulous discount!

Thank you. I will get there earlier than the server suggests. ;)
Your pictures are FANTASTIC! I have read some of your TR, but I am going to read more now. I am loving it! Thanks so much!

Hey, thanks! :goodvibes I can't take credit for the pictures in that particular installment, though—they were shot by some friends who are professional photographers!

Thanks so much for the CP advice. We'll be there Dec. 9-12, I'm going to shoot for the last showing on the 10th. Really want to see Neil Patrick Harris. So looking forward to this trip :)

We are going to be at WDW for the 9th - 11th, because of NPH. Anyone know how crowded it is supposed to be that weekend? We are actually hoping to do the FIRST show on Saturday (the 10th) so that we can hoof over to MK for the Castle lights, Wishes and MM&Y Holiday show.

Any info would be super-helpful!

After hearing that I should get the CP dinner package if I wanted good seats I tried about a month ago, but everything was sold out except two restaurants that I don't care for. The CM said that it must be a good presenter for it to be so booked up. So that worries me about the crowds...

I dunno... in my experience a sold-out night for dinner packages does not necessarily mean a crowded night in the park. It just means that the people who really want to see that night's Candlelight are all there... seeing Candlelight, not crowding the walkways or filling the lines for rides. :thumbsup2

last time I lined up 90 min before. We had seats in the middle toward the back.,

This time we did the package because it's Neil Patrick Harris and he starts on our last night, so since we only had one chance we wanted to guarantee it. I figure we'll line up about an hour early. Any earlier than that and I would go nuts.

I was too late on booking a CP package - there are NO available seats for anything! I guess we'll just line up around 4 and hope for the best :)

Thanks for the info!

Even with the CP dining pkg, we got in line about 90 min before the performance. It was the 3rd show during Whoopi's run last year. We were in the 3rd row, about 12-16 people from the center aisle.

And people shouldn't totally knock the line. It can be what you make of it. We met a nice family of New Englanders that were now living in Charlotte. To me, the conversations that took place in line, was reminiscent of the Victorian street scenes from a Christmas Carol. People conversing and making merry. I understand, that if you have little kids with you, it might be a different story.

If you're in line and are frustrated at the wait, just treat it like a live and in person disboard. Throw out any topic, ask any opinion, maybe get or give a tip or 2 and time could start flying.

I am amazed at how crazy the booking is for this. The day it opened, I believe I spent 45+ minutes trying to call and get through and then another 45 or so waiting on hold. Crazy....

That's a great attitude to have. I'm cool with waiting in line - it's Disney after all, and what is a disney trip with no line!? :confused3 We'll just get in line around 4 or so and make the best of i :thumbsup2

Let me suggest late fastpasses and parking in DTD to save parking fees as great topics to start with........... :rolleyes1

Asking for a friend who is a the world now, where is Santa located in Epcot? Thanks in advance!

You can reserve these on line and I have seen some cancellations on another thread, keep trying - you might get a little Christmas Pixie Dust headed your way.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer about Santa, I thought you could meet him in DTD, but I'm not sure if he's there this year. They have all the Christmas stories around the world in the World Showcase, perhaps the Santa we know is in one of the countries?

We met the world's best Mr. and Mrs. Santa in the American pavillion in Epcot in both 2008 and 2010. Seriously........ the BEST!

After months and months of waiting our trip is almost upon us. We will be at WDW Dec 25th thru Jan 1st.

We have reservations for CP & CRT. Plan to carry couple of camp chair for the waits in line and dress in layers.

How is the weather going to be? It is 41 degrees in NOLA and we need to bundle up to be outside. So, how cold does it get during Christmas time?

Some tips please on making the best of this trip with a 4 yr old and older parents.
