Does anyone know if the Magic bands from last year will work this year. I bought a designer one for my Goddaughter and hope it works when they go this year.

They'll work.

It's only the ride photos where it may not work (and it should in this case). You didn't mention age but I suspect she might be the age that she would not be riding alone? I still wouldn't replace the band, it's not that old yet. The other features like tickets and fastpass and room key will always work unless the band gets physically damaged.

Checked in at Pop yesterday, got old style purple Magic Bands (we're Canadian so they don't ship to us). Everyone receiving their bands at check-in appeared to be getting the old style

Anyone else's Magic Bands take forever from when they shipped till u received them? Mine shipped 7 days ago and r still not here. When anything else I order from Florida only takes 2 days.

Mine shipped on 12/30 and I just received them today. We check in on 1/25 and they are 2.0!

ok so you have the earliest checkin that got 2.0. I dont' recall anyone saying any dates after 1/25 for not getting them.

I placed my order on 1/3 and i got mine today. MB 2.0 I knew it immediately because they completely changed the box design as well.

I've been struggling with how to redo the first and second post of this thread to be more condensed and easier to get some answers without taking an evening to read it..

Anyone have any thoughts on how to structure it so there is less to put in there? part of me is thinking do it more like the recent photopass/memory maker thread I made that's more factual with a min faq and just add things back as people ask about them but i'm not really sure.

any ideas?

Were they really? Interesting. My last trip was in October and I received the same old box as usual with the 1.0 versions. The new box is definitely more compact.

It showed up about end of nov/dec according to some people in other threads. I only remember because I couldn't tell if it was 1 box or a box in a box still. If you really care I think it was a thread someone was asking if their kids would know what they were or they had to monitor mail arriving very close to not ruin a holiday surprise trip.

Nobody has reported them. I'm guessing they will hit the shelves somewhere around 1/25 as that seems to be the earliest checkin date that someone got the 2.0 bands.

fyi, I actually removed my icon and just carry it like it's change in my pocket. Works great.

AP bands have been 2.0 since middle of december and yes fully transitioned for them.

for others reading: resort bands if they mail to your house (US addresses) appear to be fully transitioned and getting 2.0. The unknown is international guests and late reservation customers with enough time to customize and pick up at resort but I think if your checking in near 1/25 you will get 2.0. Last is what are tehy handing out at guest relations and resorts if you didn't customize or you had an issue with your band is also unknown.

Design your own band in MK and springs is still 1.0 and expected as they need to upgrade their printers to support 2.0. it was estimated that maybe summer time frame but could happen sooner.

Are offsite guests allowed to attach a gift card/credit card to their magicband through MDE?

Are personalized experiences still happening? (I.e. names showing up on Test Track, Art of Animation Posters, etc)

Can you scan more than one ride photo per ride? (There's 11 of us and we won't all fit in one photo)

My sister just got her new-style band and it's much larger than the old-style one. Her wrist, like mine, is small (we both take off the black surrounding piece) and the new band is actually so large it's uncomfortable. Does anyone know if they'll still be selling the old-style band in the parks? I like wearing the band and would prefer that to carrying around some other object, like the keychain sort of things I see. Hmmm.

It's while supplies last. Of course if enough complain (WDW Guest Services <guest.services@disneyworld.com>) then they might have to keep them available. Make sure you let them know.
