Agreed. I've gotten equal or better from the local grocery store. I'm not even close to a seafood gourmet, but I didn't find anything that exceptional about the ones on the boarding buffet.my3kids said:They were just shrimp that had to be peeled. I suspect if they were much better, someone would complain the little buggers are ordinary because they won't automatically walk up your arm into your mouth - you actually have to pick them up.
Likewise, they have crab legs that are already cracked open for the most part.

MarkLem said:Having grown up on the Chesapeake Bay I've had my share of shrimp. Shrimp spoil very quickly. Good shrimp is fresh off the boat, or quick frozen thereafter and eaten as close to thawing time as possible. The shrimp on board are good quality in the above regards and nothing more.
If you are a shrimp afficianado then they are nothing special but are still good. If you don't have access to good quality shrimp back home or rarely have shrimp but love them, then they are a treat. My favorite are steamed in beer and spicy with Old Bay.
