I'm always afraid the log I'm in is going to collide with another when going down the drop. While going up the ramp before it the logs are so close together. Whenever I go up the ramp I think "Geez, I sure hope we're far enough apart." Does anyone else feel this way when they ride it? :confused3

I've never really worried about it. I know they keep an eye on the logs and think they have controls to stop them at the top of the drop in case of an emergency. I know they have this for the flume rides at Magic Mountain, and would assume the same for Disneyland.

That has never concerned me either.

okay thanks alot for worring me right before my trip. no you will not smash into the other log. think of it this way......you are going down the hill at 45-60mph+ or - depending on how heavy the load is....you will go down the hill and keep going straight. u only bump into the other boat a little. there is a guy watching before and after u launch the drop.

I have never thoguht about it before but now I am. :rotfl2: Just kidding, I never thought about it and never will, I take my life in DL hands like I do DW and know they are controlled rides and if I sit quietly and just ride the ride I should be ok. :thumbsup2

You'd have to leave within about 2 seconds of the boat in front of you probably to hit it. Basically if you hit that splash pool at the bottom then hit the boat in front of you, you'd of already slowed so much it'd be fine, rough and scary maybe, but fine.

Also,

the logs go off the drop. there is a stopper for the other log and the other log still has to move up so it is a 10 sec process i believe or so ;)

Well, this is what I was thinking when I road it a few days ago. It did seem awfully close to have two logs together like that. But it was just fine.

For what it's worth, though, dd and I rode Splash on Friday, using FastPass, then dd and dh rode it, using a baby swap pass. As soon as they were done, the ride went down. It was very cool timing, for us, anyway, as the standby line at that point was at least an hour!
