Ever visit a corn maze?

I went to one today. Some farms have corn mazes at this time of year, along with pumpkin picking, etc. With a corn maze, you have to find some clues along the way, and of course, find your way out. You hear other people in the maze talking, saying things like "I think we went this way already." Its funny!

I go every year...they have a great one in Lancaster, PA! The one we went to this year took us about 2 hours to get all the clues and get out!

A pumpkin cannon?!?!?! That sounds interesting!

We didn't make it yet this year to the one in Lancaster County. We've been every year since about 1998. Great fun! We're hoping to get out there for one of the "haunted" night hikes. DD is 13 this year & thinks this sounds like even MORE fun!

Yes! There is one right by here that looks like Cy (ISU mascot) and Herky (Iowa mascot) duking it out. Right now, it's haunted, so people wearing scream masks and wielding chain saws run out from nowhere and scare the bejeezus out of you.

DD's 3rd grade class went to one last year and DS's Tiger scouts group is going to one next weekend. They are fun. But I certainly wouldn't want to go to one where they wear scream masks and all. Not my idea of fun............P

We went to one yesterday!! Such fun. It was an easy one though. We all went through together, then the girls ran through about 5 times on their own! LOL

DBIL has been on active duty for a few months now and is in OK for training. He flew back this weekend so that we could continue our Pumpkin Patch/Hayride/Corn Maze tradition!

This will be our 6th year!

When we go it is not dark.... I wouldn't like that either!! But they are nice on a beautiful fall day IN THE SUN!.........P

That's not what I was expecting! We thought they just did the maze in the dark - which is scary enough! Maybe we'll rethink taking DD & her friends.

Well, it's divided into the "haunted" part and the non-haunted part. The haunted part isn't even half of it. I wonder if they could just start at the non-haunted part?

The more I am thinking about it, I don't think the people have anything. They just run out and scare you (which is scary enough...! You hear someone rustling through the corn, but you don't know where they are coming from!). I think the chainsaws and whatnot are at a haunted forest, not the corn maze.
