Ever use Hotwire for car rental?

I have been pricing rental cars all day using the codes from mousesavers. So far my best deal (by almost $200) is from Hotwire. We need either an SUV or mini van for 14 days. Has anyone used Hotwire to book a rental car before? Just curious what rental agency you got and if you had any problems.

We are also needing a minivan for 17 days and $229/wk has been cheapest I have been able to get. What did you get with hotwire?

I used Hotwire to get a car for my trip at then end of this month. It was much, much cheaper than any other rate I had found...saved me over $100! I am getting a standard sized car for 8 days for $130 with all taxes included. Hotwire only uses 4 car companies (they are listed on their site, I can't remember them off the top of my head). My reservation ended up being with Hertz. I used the confirmation number Hotwire gave me to chekc my reservation on Hertz's website and everything was just as I had been told so I am anticipating no problems.

I have used Priceline in the past for a rental car as well and never had any problems either.

I think that we are going to go with the SUV for $515.09
The mini-van came to $697.29 with all taxes and fees included.
Our travel dates are 7/4 - 7/17

We use Hotwire pretty routinely for our car rentals...always ends up being Hertz, Avis, or one of the major companies! We've never had a problem and it's usually a pretty good savings!

I've used them several times in Orlando, New Orleans, and San Francisco and have had NO problems. My last rental in Orlando a couple of weeks ago I got a car from Hertz for a little over $10 a day.

Just be aware that you cannot make any changes to the reservation after it is made and that you will be charged for the rental at the time of the reservation.

Hotwire is great! You automatically get unlimited miles with any rental AND you dont have to pay any airport taxes. Have rented from them many times and never had a problem.

Go for it!

Also check www.sidestep.com. You download a small program on your computer that automatically checks rates at lots of other sites and gives you the cheapest rates. I was on the Hotwire site and Sidestep found me a cheaper rate at Budget!
