Ever taken anyone to WDW who hated it?

We had a double wammy...we invited one of my daughters best friends to go with us. They were 9 at the time and she was like a part of our family. Well, the next thing we knew, the whole family was going. The dad is a really great person and my DH and him are still friends. The wife and the two younger boys were a totally different story. You know the people you quickly walk by because the have a child on the ground kicking and screaming because the didn't get their way...well, that was us. :sad2: My youngest DD, 5 at the time, looked on in utter horror at these kids with her eyes buggin' out of her head. Needless to say, they insisted on going everywhere with us even though the wife and two boys informed us they would rather be at the pool. We had a horrible time and are no longer friends, except DD and DH still keep in touch on the phone with the dad and daughter. Moral of this story...we now only associate with Disney lovers! :earboy2:

Just remember its your vacation if you want to ride POTC or HM (yes they are classics) then tell your mother that is what you are going to do and she can either come with you, wait outside by herself, or not come at all. You shouldn't let other people spoil what you want to do. Especially when your paying! This happened when I went this year with my grandma. My dad spent the entire trip making sure she was happy at the expense of him. After the trip he said it was most enjoyable during the hour we were stuck on Space Mountain after it broke down, because he got away from her.

I can relate to that....I took my boyfriend. He hated it WDW and ended up making me cry....can you believe that. I was sooo upset that he made me cry at the happiest place on earth. As soon as we left the airport and headed home I broke up with him and never looked back. You DO NOT make me cry at Disney and think you can get away with it! :earboy2:

You go, girl! Being non-Disney is grounds for relationship termination! :disrocks:

When I was little, my parents, sister, and grandparents, and I would drive from Tampa to the MK for the day (that's all there was back then!), and my grandfather would sit out in the car in the parking lot all day, reading and napping! He wasn't interested in going in the park, but for some reason he wanted to come along for the ride! I smile when I think of how many times he did that, although he must have died out in that heat in the steamy parking lot!:)

Now my DH seems to be the one less than thrilled with being at WDW. Although we has gone, he is quick to point out negative points while we are there. On our most recent visit to the MK, I had him and the other 13 family members with us getting up pretty early to get there for the opening. He was not a happy camper and was threatening not to go. He went and had a good day, but for my next trip, I went with just my sister last December. She LOVES Disney. We went for EMH at the MK one day on that trip and stayed through MVMCP until midnight! 16 hours in the MK non-stop...It was the best!! :goodvibes

I took my 2 sisters in December to the GF RPC. The first time I saw the GF, I knew my sisters would love it and decided to treat them to the whole nine yards. Purchased the Dream maker silver plan so we could try out some wonderful restaurants and have reserved seating for Wishes.

They did love the GF and dinning at Jiko, Citricos, Narcossee's, Chef de France and O'Hana, but the Parks were a disaster. Our first park day was MK ( have to say hi to Walt and Mickey). When we went to get in line for Philharmagic, my one sister informed me that she couldn't go in because she couldn't handle crowds..Now, she tells me, when we are at the busiest place on earth. :confused3 (I had suggested DW, but had offered any vacation they wanted..Cruise, etc. It turns out that she has severe claustrophobia, but won't admit it. I didn't know this because we live across the country from each other and only get together every few years). She would not get on a crowded bus. At MGM, we spent about 1/2 hour. Saw the Osbourne lights and then waited 1 hour at for a non-crowded bus. (She wouldn't take a taxi with a strange person.)

Fortunately, the monorail was OK. Apparently, on the airline flights, she would insist on being the last person to board.

My other sister and I did see Philharmagic and ride Haunted Mansion at MK, but that was it. We had to leave. Ended up not going to the park to see Wishes ( neither of them wanted to go back to the park at night and decided they could see the fireworks fine from the GF.) I was really looking forward to seeing them from the reserved seating area for a change and you really have to be there to get the full effect.

At AK we saw ITTBB, because the CM let us sit by the door and we took the train ride and then left.

We did see the Christmas show at the American Pavillion at Epcot and I insisted that we see Illuminations. They did enjoy the shows.

That was it for the parks and I was very dissapointed that they didn't "get " DW. I spent many hours planning our trip and making reservations that ended up being cancelled. It was also a big waste of money for the park tickets. I did go over to MK one afternoon by myself. That was nice. Neither of them would do anything on their own, so I spent a lot of time waiting for them both to go to dinner.

One of them liked the Hoop de Doo, but the claustrophopic one thought it was a waste of time. Didn't like the food or the show. Thought it was too crowded, of course, and just noisey.

I would never have suggested DW if I had known about the claustrophopia. Our last vacation together was a week at a beach house in Maine. No problem, but no people either.

I'm never taking anyone else again. MY DH and I are headed for AKL in May and I can't wait. :cool1: Finally, I get back to DW. December was just a trip to a nice resort, but definately not a Disney experience. :sad2:

And all of this is why it will be just me and DS(11) from now on! He and I would both be happy living there!

After our 3rd family trip, DS(14) says he hates WDW - everything is stupid. We actually ended up at Gatorland one day because he was being a jerk and didn't want to "waste" our last day at "stupid Disneyworld."

DH's attitude is "been there, done that." How dare he!

My father doesn't hate it he just doesn't get it, and it is a shame because my mom loves it. After our last trip, where my DS and I paid for Poly concierge and a cruise for their 50th anniversary, we banned him from WDW after we had to drag him on an Illuminations cruise that was decorated and had a cake for them. (This of course was the day right after the 1st hurricane last year.) My DBIL would refuse to go if he did anyway. Funny thing is that I treated my mom to 4 days at WDW for 1/2 marathon this year and when she came back, she convinced my dad to buy enough points at SSR so they can go for 2 weeks in Jan every year. Hope you can all have fun!
