Ever stayed offsite and missed Disney?

been a DVC member since 1993 - but offsite is fun too.

love BLT you can walk to the MK and monorail to Epcot.
love BCV and BWV you can walk to MK and boat to Studio.

that say staying offsite can be an adventure. Now when I stay offsite either go to WDW even more - or hardily at all. there is alot to do in Kissimmee and Orlando besides Disney. staying offsite gives you more options.

Now don't stay offsite w/o a car - you won't enjoy it as much. but if you have a rental (or your own) car - then you will be fine offsite.

hint - find out which park you love the best and if it has emh that week stay on site for that one night - you get emh for that day and the next.

The onsite/offsite saga continues. But here's my 2 cents. Our first trip to Orlando was just for Disney, but we stayed offsite due to a timeshare gift from a friend. We had a rental car, and commuted back and forth for our 7 day trip at Disney. It was fun, but we immediately noticed there was much more to Orlando than Disney. Our vacation stay has grown from 7 days to 10 days over the past couple of years. Last year we stayed onsite for the first time. We spent 3days and 3 nights at Art of Animation. It was nice being in the bubble, but we very much looked forward to our checkout day and heading over to our timeshare. For us, we feel no desire to spend more than 3 or 4 days of our vacation at Disney, the rest of our vacation is for Florida. Also, we love the extra space, separate bedrooms. extra bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer and of course price.

I know, I know...if you don't stay on property you lose the EMH. But is it really a loss? The money saved by staying offsite could go towards extra MAGIC DAYS on your ticket instead of a couple of EXTRA MAGIC HOURS!! Having done both, I still prefer offsite. I gave Disney a chance to WOW me and persuade me to the ONSITE side of the force. Unfortunately, we need more than DISNEY for our vacation, so offsite is the way to go for us. Have a FABULOUS vacation no matter what you decide!!!

We just got back from another great week at the Hilton Parc Soleil. We did go to Downtown Disney one night and Seaworld for one day but the rest of the trip was spent at the resort hanging by the pool and enjoying the blue sky, warm temperatures, and that great florida sunshine.
