Ever stayed at Doubletree Downtown Disney?

This property appeals to me because I can get a great rate for 2 adults and 4 kids on a 'suite' (seperate bedroom, fold out queen bed in living), fridge, microwave and free continental breakfast.

I'd love to get a recommendation from anyone who's stayed there. The price is right and better than 2 rooms at POP.

We stayed there our 1st trip in 97. We liked the place. We liked the fact that you had bus service to all the parks just like the resorts. We could walk to downtown disney. I'd stay there again and I'm very pickey about where I stay. Great big chocolate chip cookies also at check in.

I got a great deal last summer on 3 nights at DTGS. Looking at it again, if I didn't get that great deal, I probably wouldn't stay there. If it meant not going, I'd probably stay there. Room was a bit run down. We didn't use the transportation since we had a car. We did walk down to DTD one night.

There are double louvered doors between the sleeping area and the living area. The beds were so so. A few stains here and there. Bathroom had a tv in it, little black and white TV with hardly any channels. There was a TV in the living area and in the sleeping area.

The sleeper was not the best. I've slept on the DVC sleepers and they were much better.

We didn't get a free breakfast, but we did eat in the restaurant for breakfast. It was pretty good. Not extensive, but good.

I didn't care for the cookies at check in.
