Ever Say or Do Anything Really WEIRD in Your Sleep?

I don't talk or walk in my sleep but DH will if he is stressed about something. He usually just growls and then yells, I've learned to shake him a bit just as he starts growling because if I wait until he is yelling it can get pretty scary, not to mention loud. He says he is fighting in his dreams.

One time though, he started calling my name in this really thin, reedy voice. He said "Sue...Sue...wake me up, wake me up!" so I woke him up and he said he'd been dreaming about being abducted by aliens and they were starting to examine him. :scared1:

Not me but DH has for most of his life. Now he only does so when he is very stressed. Last night I woke to him turning the 3 way light switch on his bedside lamp off and on and when I asked him he muttered something about the board room. He has been in charge of a remodel of the boardroom at work even though he is an engineer. When you lay most of the people off the jobs tend to trickle down to the most unlikely people. Fortunately for him it is finished and he is back to traveling all over on engineering tasks again. Poor guy.

Well, this really brings back memories. Years ago, I was awakened by my husband talking in his sleep. Here's what he said:

"You may feed the islands. You may feed them sacrificial tidbits." :confused3

Debbie

Oh my God you guys make me feel normal.

DD has a habit of coming into my room and trying to wake me up and talk to me. I sleep very heavily, and I don't wake up easily, so 99% of the time I make no sense.

She came in once and said she had didn't feel good. I handed her a bottle of lotion and told her to take some When she asked me why I said, "Because you're Irish!" She's not. Then one time she said she couldn't sleep and I told her to go sit on the bench outside. Thank God she knows not to listen to me. I've also told my Dad to not call again because it's summer ( he called on my birthday, which is in January ) and I told my BF to not touch Prinicess Di when she died. She said I then made her cry, but won't tell me what I said to her. Pretty much everyone knows not to talk or even interact with me too much until I'm fully awake.

I also punched my X in the face and gave him a black eye because I dreamed someone was chasing me and had grabbed my sweatshirt. Thank God we were still getting along then.

I'm mean in my sleep. I snore so when my husband tries to roll me over I hit him and get mad. I've also told him to "stop breathing" because he was facing me in bed and it annoyed me. lol

He is a talker and a groper. haha When he was in flight school I knew he was stressed when he would start doing radio calls in his sleep and apparently while flying a helicopter if "Tower" doesn't answer your call you can elbow them! Needless to say I used to be pretty good at radio calls also. The funniest thing is the groping though, he will be ALL over me and say the funniest things and the next day when I ask him about it he has no memory of any of it. I told him he better watch out if he ever has to sleep close to anyone else during deployments! lol

I am apparently notorious for speaking in my sleep...

Some of my classics..

"when two burgers collide, they make a huge mess"
"Can you please feed the cat to the dog"
"Next time, put the pizza in the oven the other way"
Broken out into a stunning rendition of Dancing Queen complete with a choreographed dance routine.. while in bed..
"The pickles are fighting!!"
"What kind of skin was it?"

these are the ones the family always bugs me about ...

OMG the tears!!! I am laughing so hard the kids think I've lost my mind!!

Um, I've apparently said something to DH once that is not DIS friendly.......:rolleyes1
I've known for years I talk in my sleep. DD4 and DS10 also talk, sometimes yell. I have always mumbled though.

DH used to hit me in his sleep. When he was still in the Navy and shortly after he got out he was super stressed and it usually manifested itself in his sleep. Once he hit me in the leg and I had a Dr appt the next day and she asked me about it, I had a huge bruise.

When I was a teenager I used to wake up with crumbs on my face, and never understood why until one night my father woke me and I was scarfing down a box of Entenmens. Totally serious.

I slept walked to the neighbors, pounded on the door and asked for my brother. They realized i was sleeping and woke me up and sent me home. 2 minutes later I was back banging on the door asking for my mom. :confused3

I talk in my sleep in multiple languages. DH's favorite joke is that I've nearly smacked him in the face in my sleep (since I know American Sign Language fluently, I *do* sign in my sleep).

All. The. Time.

I chalk it up to stress. I wake my poor DH up at least once a week by screaming about something flying around our room. (on two occasions in 10 years, there WAS something flying around our room...a BAT)...but most of the time, there was nothing there, and most of the time, I don't remember doing it.

About a month ago, I woke him up screaming about flying dough balls. :confused3:lmao:

According to my parents I have only been caught sleep walking once in my life. I was about 10 at the time. Apparently I got out of bed one night and walked to the top of the stairs. I sat down on the top step and started screaming "Someone save the baby whale! Why will no one save the baby whale?"

Apparently I was really upset about this and was crying and screaming for about 5 minutes. I even fought my parents when they tried to pick me up and put me back into bed. Finally I calmed down and they got me back to bed.

I have no idea what caused it...

I apperently speak all the time. I also move around alot.
Ive been told I call out for my dog. Even though she is beside me.
On a trip to Italy, I was rooming with 4 other girls. They stayed up later doing their hair and i fell asleep on a chair. So when they went to bed they put a blanket on me. Apparently my eyes shot wide opened and I screamed at them to not touch my chair and it was MY chair. And i was taking home with me as a present. :confused3

When I was about 13 my mom woke me up before she went to work, early in the morning. She asked me what time I had to babysit that evening. I was asleep, but she thought I was awake. I said, "Its in my appointment calendar." She said, "You don't have an appointment calendar." And I said, "Yes I do, its in Dad's wig!" and no...Dad didn't wear a wig! She did figure out I was asleep.

My DH used to talk in his sleep quite a bit. It was always very loud, no mumbling.

Oh, one time the phone rang early on a Saturday morning. DH answered and actually bought credit card protection insurance... in his sleep!

One of my DSs used to sleepwalk, and would pee in the trash can in the kitchen. It was always shocking :rotfl:

I thought my roommate fed me a nyquil in my sleep, but then a few days later we found the pill on the floor :rolleyes1

So, I don't do anything...besides snore.

However, my roommate is Greek, so I woke up to her mumbling Greek in her sleep.

When I was young and silly and poor, I would go to Las Vegas with my then-boyfriend and share our room with a friend and the friend's girlfriend.

One night, we had a great time. Gambling and winning and smoking cigars and looking sexy...we tumbled into bed late one morning.

The friend started to snore, then bolted straight upright in bed shouting, "Who do you think I am, Abraham Lincoln?"

When my mom found the garage door open and the light on one morning, my brother reported my previous evening's activity which I had no memory of. I apparently went into the garage and over to the tool bench, picked up a hammer and started banging it on the table. I then screamed an obscene word and then ran back to bed. When asked what I had dreamed the night before, I clearly remembered dreaming about an ex-boyfriend. :rotfl:

Now I just talk in my sleep and flop around like a fish out of water. I used to walk all the time but I guess I got tired of all that walking. :)
