Ever go to the park before the resort?

I've never done this before, but a friend of mine is only going to be there for the day, so we're going to Epcot directly from the airport, and I'm going to check into the resort afterwards.

Seems completely backwards to me. Anyone else ever go to your resort after you go the park?

I guess if I only had 1 day I'd want to make the most of it. So maybe under those circumstances I would go to the parks first. We usually don't even do the parks on our arrival day. As we tend to take the first morning flight and we're usually tired-- so we just spend the day relaxing and do alittle shopping.

I always take the early morning flight, and always go to Epcot my first day. I feel weird about it though - I always check in at the resort, get the feel, leave my bags, and take the bus to Epcot. This time we'll be driving to Epcot. By the time I get to the resort, I'll have already started my vacation.

I know, I'm odd. It just feels weird to me.

I always check into the resort first even early in the morning and every time my room has been ready. But I don't know of I would go into a park before at least checking my luggage. I wouldn't like to leave it in the car.

If our flight gets in at 10AM we will hit either DD or a park before it is time to check in.
