If I went to a movie alone I would feel like a complete loser. Maybe it dates back to high school when I was at a movie with a bunch of friends and some person walked in alone and sat in front of us. Some of the guys in our group were saying things in his direction like, "So are you out tonight with all of your friends?" and whatnot. Even now, when I see people at movies alone, I tend to feel sorry for them, like, "Couldn't find anyone to go with you, huh?"
Now I know from reading these threads that is not the case, many people like to go alone. I just don't get it, but I can see the other side. Still would never do it though. Call me insecure..
Your friends are really cruel. I go to the movies by myself whenever I feel like. So do many people I know. I work different hours than a lot of my friends. My boyfriend hates chick flix, so if my gal pals have already seen the movie or if none are around, I have no problems going by myself. Am I supposed to wait for the movie to come out on DVD if I have no one to go with? Just so I can look cool for your insecure friends? Thankfully, I have never run into people like that around here.

Although they may do a festival show here or there in the summer.

My life is so full - I have tons of friends and family - so being by myself "for a change" is actually quite refreshing!
