Ever fly Spirit?

I can get a super low price by flying Spirit from Atlantic City to Myrtle Beach but I don't know much about them. Are they an ok airline? Any good/bad experiences? I read the thread from the DISer that is "super pissed" at Spirit, but that was just because she wants to pay a lesser price, not the kind of thing I am looking for.

I flew them once a couple of years ago. The flight down was fine, the flight back was delayed because we were wiating for a flight from Jamaica so people could make their connection.

If they still flew direct out of LGA-MCO I'd fly them again if the price was right.

We have flown Spirit out of AC numerous times. The airline is fine and the airport is great!! Parking is a breeze and cheap, especially compared to Newark. You pull into the lot, put in your credit card, find a spot, and it is a short walk to the terminal!!

We would do it again, but have gotten better prices and flights from Jetblue. I hate Newark, but the TV's for the kids are great!!

We used Spirit last year to fly from Boston to Myrtle Beach. We had no problems at all. I recommend them. They now have all new planes flying from the East coast. The staff was very friendly. They even let DS take a trip into the cockpit to see the pilots when we were at the gate. They now use all Airbus jets.

Just be sure to factor in all the extra costs. Spirit charges you for EACH bag, for drinks...pretty much for everything except the air you breathe.

Their planes are nice and new, and the FAs and pilots are good. But the customer service & reservations people are THE PITS. And depending upon which airport you fly out of, their luggage service is horrendous. HUGE lines in places like Fort Lauderdale. Now that they'll be charging for every bag, that will get much worse.
