Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

My brothers would agree in your assessment of Tink, they hate her and think she is a not very nice word. ;) I will leave it to your imagination to figure out what the word is, they have used several when describing her. :rolleyes1

You're a better woman than I. I have very little patience with kids who do not act appropriately around my babies. *thumbs up* for your self control ;)

Ugggg, what a lovely little girl :sad2: Makes me think of those spoiled girls that are on Toddlers and Tiaras - you know the kind that scream at and hit their mothers? I know I shouldn't watch that show, but it's like a train wreck you can't divert your eyes away from

There's always one bully on every playground:sad2: I did laugh at loud and what you wanted to do with her....I've had those moments myself. I would often say "just make me 10 for five minutes and I'll take care of her"...never worked though:worship:

The gardens are beautiful and it sounds like overall it was a fun time!:thumbsup2

Ohhh, I don't do well with kids like that either. You handled it wonderfully. I really hope some day someone teaches her how to act kindly to others or her parents have lots of money to pay for the lawyers that little girl with surely need.:lmao:

:rotfl2: Blame it on the TR! I love it!

I have to remember this Chewy Caramel Bar for next week. ::yes::

I'm glad to hear things started to improve-hopefully the boys cooperated for the rest of the night!

Yes, next time, I'll have to not talk up Chewy Caramel Bar so much. :rotfl:

I hope they have one for you next week!

The boys are usually pretty cooperative, so we were definitely on the right track to restoring a perfect day.

Kate, sorry I missed an update (we've been changing our resorts for our upcoming trip and I got behind).

I LOVE the first kiss from Landon. That had to make everything in the world feel just perfect, caramel chewy or not.

Glad hte kids got to play in the fairie area for awhile; that wasn't a very nice little girl. :headache:

What day do you actually arrive in Disney next? I'm wondering if our dates cross at all or if you arrive after we leave?

Actually, I think I'm behind on your PTR, too. I had Lasik done a few days ago, and while my new perfect vision is miraculous, my eyes get tired looking at the computer screen for too long. I'm going to try and catch up soon.

It sure did make everything feel perfect again, even without the chewy caramel. I think a kiss from Landon is actually even better.

The boys had a great time playing in the fairy playground. It was nice that they were still too little to know fairies are girly. That little girl wasn't very nice at all, but I'm glad she left them alone after that.

We're leaving for Disney Thursday, September 29, in the evening. We'll drive as far as we possibly can that night and spend the night somewhere and arrive at Disney Friday, September 30, sometime. I remember thinking that we'd miss you by one day, but I could be mistaken about that.

I didn't even see the fairy play area when we were there. I saw the fairy topiaries but some how missed the playground. :confused3

Looks like the boys really enjoyed themselves! I can not get over that mean little girl. But you did a good job of reasonably putting her in her place. I feel for her mother - I think she's going to have problems with that one! :sad2:

I think they were pushing the fairies meet and greet area much more than the playground. Carter had played there last year, so we figured it was around there somewhere.

They did have a great time playing. I think maybe they just wanted some time out of the stroller. I think I actually feel sorrier for the little girl than her mother. Her mother should have been watching her and showing her how to play nicely. :confused3

That play area looks really cute and fun!

Ugh to that little girl (and her MOM!)...I would of had to resist the urge to push her down! ;) Sounds like you handled it like a pro! :goodvibes

My boys love playing there. I wish that play area was up all year at Epcot, since it's just right for them.

Nothing gets me madder than someone being mean to my boys, so it was a challenge to not overreact. :rotfl: I guess it all worked out, though.

WOW, that little girl sounds like a piece of work. If I was a parent there is no way I would let my kids act like that (maybe it's the teacher in me). Where the heck was the mother, or any supervision, anyway?! :confused3

I love that Landon knew just what his mommy needed and was able to "make it all better" for you! I guess he realized that kisses can make all boo-boos better. What a magical moment for you!

The Fairy Gardens look beautiful. Maybe one day, we will get to see them! I am such a Mama Bear when it comes to my kids. I can not stand to see older kids be mean to them or pick on them.

Can't wait to read more!

Yep, we miss you by a day. We're leaving the MK at 3 p.m. for Marco Island on the 29th.

I am sooooo with you in Tink. They turned her into a princess.. and a dumb one, too. My boys really seem to like those movies if they happen to be on, but I can't stand what Disney has done to her! :sad2:

Looks like the boys had a lot of fun exploring. I didn't know there was so much back there!

I would've felt the same way about that little girl. Wasn't anyone watching her??

It looks like Landon and Carter enjoyed exploring yet another playground! At this rate, they are going to become Disney Playground Experts.:rotfl2: Sorry about the run in with the mean little girl. I probably would have been tempted to start throwing mulch back at her.:lmao::rotfl2:

I'm all caught up again.

I'm happy that Jeremy arrived and could help out on a day when you needed help the most!

Landon giving you that kiss is the sweetest thing ever! :lovestruc

We're leaving the MK at 3 p.m. for Marco Island on the 29th.

I love Marco Island! :lovestruc I would have never thought about combining it with a trip to WDW, but that would be the perfect place to relax after a busy vacation! How far is Marco from WDW?

Have a great time... I'm so jealous!

I agree...I was really surprised at the person Tink was in the fairy movies...didn't seem to fit the Tink that I knew from before :confused3

That was a cute playground they had set up...minus the little brat!!

Kate,
I think I turned my DS (10 1/2) into a Vinylmation addict.
Also, I think some of the resposibilty belongs to this TR :)
We were at the Disney Store this past Saturday and I said let's stop in the store and see if they have Vinylmations. (I had shown him a picture of one previously). They had the buy one get one free. He bought an Urban and picked out another Urban for his free one. They had 3 different ones on hand they could trade. He ended up trading one of his in the store. He is now all caught up in it. In fact, he was talking about selling all of his old gameboy games on Ebay and then he could buy more Vinylmations. Then he would be stocked when we go to WDW next June.
Rapunzel's castle looks really neat and I can't wait to try a caramel bar. I don't like plain chocolate - it has to have a filling such as peanut butter or caramel. I'll be there way after you - so don't worry about there not being any because of me.:lmao:
Looking at the pictures of your boys remind me of when we first went to WDW. DS was 2 1/2 yrs then and some of the things like stroller naps bring back memories. I wish I had know about the babycare centers as a little get away for him to play. I know he would have enjoyed it - so would have my DD who was 5 at the time.
Can't wait to read more.
Amy

Count me in as another non-Tink fan! I keep saying they need to make the movie where they explain why she goes from this sweet, dumb fairy to the sassy, bratty, mean thing she is when she is with Pan! Of course, I'm sure it wouldn't be as popular with most parents, but I'm curious!

Good for you for standing up for your boys! That little snot nose needed to be taken down a peg or two..... I'm just sayin.:rolleyes1 If my daughter ever acts like that and I catch her, oh boy. Nastiness will not be tolerated. Period.

I hope for cool shopping. Literally and physically.

The boys look like they had so much fun in that play area! I agree that they need a play area permanently in Epcot. I have had some similar experiences at our local water park this summer that you had with that girl. Their parents sit along the edge of the kids play area and let the kids run around, doing whatever. They are always trying to push in front of Colby in line for the little water slides. It drives me nuts! I'm glad your day is turning back around!

My brothers would agree in your assessment of Tink, they hate her and think she is a not very nice word. ;) I will leave it to your imagination to figure out what the word is, they have used several when describing her. :rolleyes1

Hmm, I don't think I'm going to venture any guesses on here, although I can certainly imagine a few your brothers might find descriptive. :rotfl: She's really not a nice fairy, as portrayed in the new movies.

You're a better woman than I. I have very little patience with kids who do not act appropriately around my babies. *thumbs up* for your self control ;)

I think this was one of the first times that a kid was intentionally mean to one of my boys. Usually it's just standard kid carelessness. It was hard to respond properly, but I suppose she was just a kid.

Ugggg, what a lovely little girl :sad2: Makes me think of those spoiled girls that are on Toddlers and Tiaras - you know the kind that scream at and hit their mothers? I know I shouldn't watch that show, but it's like a train wreck you can't divert your eyes away from

I haven't seen Toddlers and Tiaras, but it sounds pretty bad. It's probably a fascinating show. I can't understand how mothers let their little kids get away with stuff like that. :confused3

Oh, if only I had been 10, I so could have taken care of that girl. She wouldn't have stood a chance. Bullies are the worst. I never realized until I had kids exactly how intolerable it is for people to be mean to them.

We did have a fun time playing in that garden. I think we could have stayed a lot longer, if it hadn't been so hot.

Ohhh, I don't do well with kids like that either. You handled it wonderfully. I really hope some day someone teaches her how to act kindly to others or her parents have lots of money to pay for the lawyers that little girl with surely need.:lmao:

Most little girls that age are great with my boys and are nice to them and want to try to play with them, even though they are young. Or they ignore the boys completely, which is fine, too. This little girl was a totally different story. I hope she was just having an off day or something, but if not, I hate to think of her as a grown up. :scared1:

go mama go!
I surely hope that little girl's mother was not that close because if she was it is naturally polite for her to correct her own child but kids are kids
