A friend of mine who is single just went on a cruise by herself. I dont think I could ever do this, I would be lonely, but she is rockin it! She is having a great time! Anyone ever done this? More power to you!!

I never have but I think I would if I were single. I love cruising and we always end up meeting people and making friends on board. Good for your fried for enjoying life even on her own.

My friend did that after her boyfriend flaked out on the trip. She's always been very outgoing (and a drinker) and she had a blast.

I haven't and hope I'll never be in a position to do so but I think its safe to say I am the sort who would totally go to the party instead of waiting for a party to find me. Good for your friend!

She is a perfect example of live life to the fullest! Pretty awesome!

When I was 22 I went to St. Thomas by myself. None of my friends wanted to go so I just booked the vacation for myself. I got there and met up with 2 people at the pool the first hour I was there and we hung out with each other the entire week. It was great!

I did it! Just this February, it was my first cruise. Royal Caribbean, Independence of the Seas. It was shortly after a breakup but I would definitely do it again.

A few years ago I also went on a big 'turning 40' trip for a little over a month. Visited Disneyland, Las Vegas, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Disneyworld. Was a great time. Very self affirming, etc.

IMO a cruise is probably one of the better "single" vacations out there. Lots of activities to do where you can meet new people

If I had the money I would do it in a heart beat.

I would TOTALLY do a solo cruise!! The one thing that was the most enjoyable to me on our cruise was the time I spent in a lounge chair by the pool with my book. I would LOVE the freedom of going where I wanted and when I wanted to!! :thumbsup2

But I would have to do a cruise with DPartner and DD first. DD has never been, and I can't wait to take her for the first time!! :goodvibes
But after that, I could absolutely do one on my own! It would be an entirely different kind of fun, but I think it would be great!!

Never been on a cruise but heck yeah I would go if no one to go with me. I am married and if DH couldn't get off work for whatever reason I would have no qualms going by myself. Been to DW alone numerous times. I think a cruise by oneself would be very nice! Just think of all the things you could do or choose not to do!

I was actually speaking to an elderly lady (81 years) who has just booked her second solo cruise. She is in good health and loves to travel, but has no family and her friends are either in poor health or can't afford to go with her. So, she just decided to go alone. She is flying into Miami, will stay overnight and boards the ship the next day. After the cruise, she will stay in Miami one night and then fly home the following day. She is a friendly chatty sort so I'm sure she will find someone to share her cruise with when she gets on board.
