'Ohana or
Le Cellier

I can't even believe what a hard time we have had getting ADRs for our December trip (4-5 months out). We have a 2 year old so we would prefer to eat early. Has anyone had any luck walking up to 'ohana at opening and getting a seat?

For LeCellier we have 2 tables (for 2 and 3) 10 minutes after opening. I know the tables are close together so I am hoping we can be seated at ajoining tables.

Walk-up seating is possible, but getting a table will depend on:

What time of year you're visiting
What time of day you try
Which particular restaurant you're trying to get into
Luck

I'd say you have a decent chance of getting into 'Ohana walk-up if you show up a few minutes before they open and ask for an early seating.

I'd say you have a very slim chance of getting into LeCellier, but if they get last-minute cancellations and you're willing to try for an "unpopular" time, like a 2:30 PM lunch, you might get it.

Perhaps the best strategy is to wait until you're getting hungry, then call Disney Dining from your cell phone. Tell them you're looking for a table service meal and are hoping they can get you in somewhere right away. This strategy works best if you happen to be in Epcot when you call, and have wide-ranging tastes. My wife and I did this before when we were travelling alone, and it was fun. Once we were seated immediately in Coral Reef (a hard thing to get, but there had just been a cancellation). Another time Garden Grill. Another time we were at MGM and got into Mama Melrose literally 20 minutes after being told there were no tables at walk-up.

ADR for ten minutes after opening? Check in right at opening and ask if you can be seated together. They should have no trouble accommodating this.

while in MGM in March we decided spur of the momet to eat in Prime Time cafe - we went up to the desk & were told they could not fit us in. We went to the kiosk in the park right after & we got a 'reservation' in just 15 minutes - we got a seat before people sitting in the lunge got theirs!

We just returned from 11 days at WDW. I made my ADR for Le Cellier about 5 months out and there was ONLY ONE spot available the whole time we were there (at 8:50 PM). As one CM put it, if you can get a walk-up at Le Cellier play the lottery 'cause it's your lucky day!

We have gotten into "Ohana without an ADR.

I have tried at at both places and only succedded once at le Cellier. It depends on luck because they are both very popular restaurants.:cool1:

When I was at WDW last February, I had two Le Cellier lunch reservations about a week apart, right at opening. Both times (since I checked in before the restaurant opened) people came in asking about walk ins for lunch. Both times they were told that the hosts wouldn't be told if walk ins would be accepted until after the restaurant opened. I couldn't tell one day if they seated any of the walk ins or not (because of where I was seated) but I know the other day they seated at least three of the walk in families. Of course, early February is a slower time, so that gives you a better shot. If you are going to try it, I would definitely have a back up plan in mind.
