Ever come back from a Disney vacation and feel disappointed? We LOVE WDW. We've been 4 times. But when this trip was over, I think we were all ready to leave. I was almost happy to be at work on Monday morning. Like I said on my trip report, it started out bad with DH leaving his wallet at home, the torrential downpours and 3 hour additional drive, and DD getting sick all within the 1st 24 hours of the vacation. A couple of times I found myself thinking, 'I just want to be back home.' (sigh) We did make some good, happy memories, but this definitely wasn't the best trip. Like on Friday we quickly chose staying at the resort to rest instead of visiting a park, knowing that we wouldn't be back in there before we left on Saturday morning. We also missed out on Wishes. We talked about that on Friday, but never did muster up the energy to hop on a bus to MK.

We still have 4 days of tickets left, and we definitely want to go back. But I think we need to wait a couple years, so that we miss it more before we go. Does that make sense?

I feel your pain. My family and I had to make each other stop saying "we missed..." and "we didn't do..." But really all you have to think about is the wonderful vacation and the new ones coming. Make plans for future trips and incorporate those ideas.

When we went to wdw in Jan the same thing happen to us! My girlfriend lost her wallet i forgot my cc and i got a ticket on the wayy up for speeding! It sucked a lot! But we never wanted to get back home! Home= college, college=work, work=bad! lol. Disney=happy! lol!

Yes, I have. We planned a great big trip last Dec. for our anniversary and was so looking forward to it. However, I was pretty sick through the whole trip and had to stay on medication to make it bearable. Plus we got into a wreck during the vacation. We were ready to be home. I was less than excited about going back. But...it only took a couple months before I was ready to go back. ;)

We've been 4 times in the past year and are going back in 3 weeks. This is fairly typical for us, 2 - 3 times per year and the only time we're disappointed is when we have to leave!

I do understand the feeling! We just got back Friday, and I was ready to go home. We missed Fantasmic for the same reason...just ran out of energy. But now that I've got my pictures back, I'm feeling the magic again. :goodvibes

It will be a few years until we go back again. It was the most expensive vacation I've ever had. Worth it for sure. I will be looking forward to more grown up type things on our next Disney vacation. More sight seeing, less rides, more snacking, less meals, more atmosphere, less thrills. I think the next time we go my kids will be full fledged teens, and able to go off for a few hours and do their own thing, while Mom eats a Dole Whip without worrying about whether my son will need a change of clothes after eating his!! :lmao:

My husband and I went to WDW in September 2004 in between Hurricanes Jeanne and Ivan, and while we had a fantastic trip, I was somewhat dissapointed.

We left our 2 kids at home with family to go. (Ages 2 years and 4 months) and Ivan was looming and slated to hit Florida. I spent a good part of the trip worrying about being stuck in Florida and not getting back to our kids. We even spent lots of time on the phone with the airline instead of enjoying our vacation.

Granted, we ended up having a great time, the lines and crowds were sparse, but I had no control over the hurricane. My kids were safe with family, my husband and I would have been fine no matter what.

I should have worried less and enjoyed my vacation more.

We also spent 3 hours waiting for friends to arrive from the DCL. We should have gone to a park while waiting instead of hanging out in our room. Their bus kept getting delayed and I felt like we wasted the morning and early afternoon.

We went once in August, and, it was so hot and humid while we were walking to the TTC. Plus, the crowds were horrendous at that time of year. And I remember saying that I didn't want to go back again for a quite a long time, as we were all tired and exhausted. But, 5 months later, we were back there again, and we had a blast. I think it was just the heat that was the problem.

One time when we went everybody else (DW, DD, and DS) took turns getting sick on their stomachs. It was just a chore for us all to be there -lots of time spent in bed instead of parks, etc. I played nurse to the family pretty much the whole time (not that I minded, but not what I had hoped for). DW and I decided we needed a "do-over" trip after that one. Every other trip to WDW (6 in all) has been fantastic. I can't wait to go again

Yes! Both times that we have stayed off site ...... NEVER AGAIN no matter how nice the accommodations are.

While I didn't quite get to do everything I wanted to, I'm okay with that. I had to sacrifice some minor things like getting a PhotoPass pic with Mickey so I could spend more time with my parents and sister. I know that we could have fit everything in, but me and my brother were the only ones who did commando touring on the trip. The rest didn't make it out of the rooms until after lunchtime or so.

I'm definitely always disappointed to leave, but there are reasons that I'm happy vacations are over. I always miss my pets a lot when we go on vacation and I'm always happy to come home and see them. And of course I start missing my family and friends that aren't there with us. This vacation will be weird for me because my boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years and he always comes with me on vacation. This time we decided to do an all girls trip (with one of the girls being his sister), so I know that I'll be happy when the vacation is over to see him again!

I get disappointed on every trip. I get disappointed when I run out of money on the fourth or fifth day of my week long trip. Kind of kills the chance of really splurging on any gifts or souvys.

We go often (usually 3-4 times a year) and so I guess it wasn't as dissapointing this trip even though DH was in a wheelchair/ecv the whole trip because of not being able to walk. He didn't get to do most of the rides (but did manage to do Stitch (because he is our Favorite!!) I think I was more disapointed that he couldn't ride the rides with me than he was that he wasn't riding them. He said he has ridden them before and knows he will ride them again. We managed to do alot of things that we never did before (like check out the World Showcase pavillions when normally we buzz right on by all the pavillions and just look at the outside.) I of course am disapointed to be home now and not looking forward to going to work tomorrow.

Guess my only relief is planning the next trip!! LOL

yep, last DEC trip we were ready to leave because it was sooo cold and rainy the last 3 days... we just were bummed with it AND then I found out my flight home was cancelled from snow here... too much worry and calling airlines and such... was a pain. Then I ended up driving to another airport 2 hrs away from Orlando and got on a flight that left an hr after mine was going to leave Orlando... weird! But yes we were done and not wanting to rush back... until the past month :rotfl2: now we are all over going NOW TODAY ect......... guess it happens like this aye

We had a horrible trip in 2003. At one point or another all 5 of us were sick, and nothing seemed to go right. I was never so happy to be leaving my favorite place in the world. We got home and I made my SIL promise to not let me go back anytime soon. As much as I would want to it was her job to remind me how bad our last trip was. Well I guess Disney World is a little like childbirth, it didn’t take too long before I forgot all the bad things and I could only remember the smile's on our kids faces. We went again in 2005 and had one of our best trips yet!

I know exactly what you mean, I tend to forget all the "rough parts" and focus on the fun. But I've had my share of disappointments on WDW trips! Bad weather, getting sick, etc. As in everything else in life, there's always a risk that things won't go as planned. However, I'm much more flexible now when I go to WDW than I used to be. If we're too hot or too tired...we leave the parks! It used to be like the Bataan death march when we went to WDW. We just kept going, no matter how miserable we were! Ha ha! It seems funny, now!
