Ever choose a resort for the bathroom?

My DD has been bugging me to post this question. When choosing a resort for our Dec trip it came down to four choices, CR, Poly, AKL, and WL. They all looked great (we've never been so were relying on these boards and the guide books). The CR won because....there was a sink in the small room with the toilet (known to us as the "toilet room") and we could wash our hands before touching the door.
Phew, there I said it! I know we're strange, my DD suspects it but wants confirmation...any other germ-a-phobes out there who have done this?

Actually the room we were in last summer at the Polynesian had the toilet, sink, and tub all in one room. It wasn't HA either.

The bathroom in the CR are as such:

Tub, large sink area, mirror in main room. A door connects this room with a small room with a toilet, a counter and a mirror. There are plugs so you can dry your hair. There is no sink in this room.

The CR bathrooms are MUCH better than WL. I think the AKL bathroom are set up the same way as WL.

WL has a tub and toilet in a small room. No mirror or sink. The double sink area is outside. Thought it is private, there is no door. It does make it quite noisy in the bed area when someone is drying their hair. I really wish they'd put pocket doors in. There is room. Then the room would be much quieter.

I love WL, but the bathroom's are lacking, IMHO.

AKL and WL bathrooms are identical in size and layout.

At WDW I like everything in the same room, too. Not always possible but wish it was.

On the DCL I feel the same way but am probably in the minority as far as liking the one bathroom as opposed to the split baths (see my tag).

To each his own...

We absolutely love the bathrooms at the CR, too. They are HUGE for hotel bathrooms, and we loved the separate toilet/sink room, too, since we have small children who have to go when they have to go. All of the dark marble against the white marble....beautiful.

Now, the carpet......that's another story. :goodvibes

Yes, I have a thing about bathrooms also (which is a bit of a joke in my family). One of the first things I look at when picking out a place to stay is the bathroom. :)

The bathrooms (in the 1 & 2 bedrooms) were a bonus in my decission to buy DVC  IMO I would rather have the sinks in a different room because when you flush, germs are propelled through the air for up to 12 feet (according to a show I watched, I haven't actually measured ;) ) so even though you just washed your hands when you touch the handle to leave you have reintroduced yourself to the same germs floating around from the flush. I think I have said enough so I'll stop now.

Ewwww...

I think I'm not coming back to this thread... :sad2: :bitelip:

That's why I just don't flush the toilet :earseek:

Put the lid down, then flush. if there are no sinks in the bathroom you could always wash your hands from the bath tub faucet (is that how do you say 'TAP' in American?).;)

you could wear a spacesuit that has a special exhaust tube for all waste products.. and maybe disney could put in a decontamination chamber outside each bathroom.. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When we stayed at the WL in Dec. the bathrooms didn't have fans/vents. :faint: I even called housekeeping to help me find the switch. I couldn't believe it. I'm glad we only stayed 2 days. :rotfl2:

We stayed in Tokealau (newer longhouse) at Poly and everything is in one room. However, there is wall dividing the sink from the toilet.

I haven't, but if I did, it would be the Contemporary. The bathrooms are very large and I like that the toilet is separated from the tub area and also has a sink in there.
