Ever been stalked?

Yes I was. It started in high school then a few years later again. he saw me at work and found out where I lived andmy # and would stop by a ring my doorbell for the longest time and call me and yell at me for not answering on the voicemail. I moved to california for 2 months and it stopped. He had bought me tickets to a concert I never said i would go to and I moved the day of the concert. I am scared of ever running into him again.

One of our employees daughter was stalked by a Deputy Sheriff here. She had dated him for a while, but dumped him. He'd follow her car with his patrol car, leave notes on her windshield, show up at her parents (she lived there) unexpectedly. She'd be at a store and see the patrol car parked near her car in the lot. She married a sailor and moved across country.

Sadly, A Newington, Ct police officer Ciara McDermott was stalked by her boyfriend, a Connecticut State Trooper. He apparently was quite good at getting around the stalking laws. Last night he parked his car down the street, entered her home, shot her and then shot himself. A police officer that she was dating responded to the call and found her dead. Very sad.

i had a guy (never did find out who or why) who started stalking me when I was in my early 20's. He would call my house and tell me if he liked my outfit for that day. He would describe what I was wearing and how it looked. I would hang up, change my phone, etc. Then packages started arriving. I was completely freaked out. I finally moved and got an unlisted number. :)

No, but I used to be a stalker. And I was pretty darn good at it too! ;)

ETA: Reading some above posts, I wasn't crazy like that.

My ex husband stalked me for 5 years until I moved cross country.

A friend of mine is currently being stalked by her ex. She is scared for life...he has threatened to kill her on numerous occasions. Scary stuff!

I seem to be a stalker magnet.

I was first stalked when I was 12 years old, by a man in his 30's or 40's. That was back before there were real stalker laws. My parents and neighbors were constantly having to call the police when they would find the man sitting out in front of our house, and even a couple times trying to look in my bedroom window.

Then again when I was in my early 20's, a man who was a client at the mental health center I worked at would follow me around town, and would show up at my apartment complex. I would be sitting out at the pool reading, and suddenly find him sitting in the chair next to me. I sat down with him and the psychiatrist at our mental health center a few times and we discussed the inappropriateness (and I had him transferred to another caseworker), and he finally stopped on his own.

Again in my later 20's, someone was following me in a rental car (I had a friend who is a cop run the plate) when I would leave to go to lunch at work, and back. Finally one day he got out of the car when I got out at the office, and I ran inside. He got back in his car and sat on the road outside the office. I called the sheriff, but they would not come out for whatever reason. I worked at a construction company, and told several of the crewmen what was going on. They went down to his car and confronted him and he never bothered me again. I don't know what they said to him.

No thankfully I have never been stalked. I do suggest all people, but especially women, read a book entitled "The Gift Of Faer" by Gavin DeBecker. It is a fabulous book about personal security, stalking etc. I think it is a "must read" for every woman.

A long time ago, when I was young and stupid I meet a guy on line and we started chatting. One thing led to another and I agreed to meet him in person after “knowing him online for over 6 months”. Not only was I NOT even remotely interested from that point on; this guy professed his undying love to me right there and then. Long story short I had to call police in both my town and the state where he resided in order to rid of him. It took me over a year to rid of the freak and left me very untrusting of others intentions. Second time was a very sweat but persistent coworker. From the very beginning he knew I was dating my then boyfriend (now husband), but he kept asking me to lunch, movies, brining me candy and flowers, and such. Each time I told him, NO I’m seeing someone, but he just said he was doing these things for me because he saw me as a friend. The freaky part came when he came uninvited to my wedding and stood outside watching from the distance. Needless to say, I severed all ties and avoided him until the unwanted attention wore off. gue

Oh yes! :guilty: Twice.

yes, I have. My ex-BF was crazy.

Same here! When I was a teenager, he called and called so much my dad had to call the police and then called his father and told him what he was doing. He was just plain strange. That went on for about 3 years.

Then my ex-best friend wouldn't leave me alone (its a long story about why its ex best friend...lets just say she likes to lie...a lot). Anyhow, she would follow me around, write me letters, call my phone and hang up, and I know its her because of caller ID. This lady is psycho!
