This is just strange to me!

DH works with this woman that he has recently gotten to know (no worries on "that" front -- she's a good bit older and just not his type). Anyway, she's got a b-day coming up and was feeling really lonely. Somehow, DH got backed into the position of buying her a ticket to see Elton John this weekend. :scratchin :confused3 How on earth does that happen? :rotfl2: Even he is baffled as to how he ended up in that position!

So, he bought 3 tickets and we're all going together this weekend. Now, I am pretty shy and feel really awkward about it, but I'm just shrugging my shoulders and going.

Have you ever been in a situation where you just ended up wondering how the heck that happened? I think it's hilarious, but I'm still :confused3

Unless he lost a bet or otherwise "really" owes her for something around the office, I would assume she will re-pay him eventually for the ticket. If not with $$, then with a return invite/pay somewhere.

You could always act the clueless one and ask her for "her $$ share for the ticket" and see what she says about it when you go. Have fun though, it's always nice to take someone out and maybe make a new friend--though is a bit odd that he doesn't "know how it happened".

That's kind of like how my DH ended up rebuildng his sister's porch...he forgot to say no! He was asked to pick up the lumber (they don't have a truck), and somehow between the lumber yard and her house, he got roped into doing the construction. I still don't understand it...

Enjoy Elton John, though!

I think that was very kind of your husband. If she is older then she probably doesn't have children at home. This will make her feel good on her birthday. You and your husband are doing a good deed.
You may have a good time and glad that you went, and how lucky for you to see Elton John. Where are you seeing him?

Sounds like he felt sorry for her, had a moment of generosity and didn't know what hit him! Sounds like a good guy and I'm jealous. THAT sounds like a win-win situation, although I know his tix are $$$$! Have fun and hug your hubby for being a good guy.

Somehow my mom got invited on our last WDW vacation. It was a fun time, but we won't take anyone again, or they will have to have a seperate room. Just to ackward. :rolleyes1

Oh no! You mean she crashed your room too? :rotfl2:

The older woman may have pretended it was a "joke" for him to buy her the ticket and once he did, she took him up on the offer.

Well, she's buying dinner. Regardless, it's just odd. It's not that I don't want to see Elton John, but it's definitely not something we would have done this weekend!

Wow. How strange is that? Keep us updated.

I love my mother dearly and would love to have her take a WDW trip with us, but there is no way in heck we are sharing a room!!
