Ever been on the 'world's longest yard sale'

I saw this on the travel channel a couple of years ago and thought it would be a lot of fun for my mother. She loves to stop at little spots along a road and loves yard sales.
Anyone ever done it? I would probably rent an RV or big van and just drive till we got tired of doing it. I saw 4 women on the travel channel special that had done just that. had plenty of room for their 'treasures' they bought and could have a cup of coffee when ever they felt like it.
Any advise?

Are you speaking of the one that starts in northern Kentucky and then ends in Alabama? We have featured this several times on HGTV (I work for them) and I have heard good and bad things about it.

The bad is having to start and stop so much if you want to visit the whole route - and I guess everyone is set up at some places, and you need to drive further for others - weird...

My parents have done this a couple of times. They think that the best parts are the places in Kentucky and parts of Tennessee. I think the first year they thought it was pretty good but then the other years it was more junk. They just like to get out and go more than anything else. It probably would be fun for your mother. You might not find much but you could have fun doing it.

BTW I am watching HGTV right now. Love the channel!

Maybe I saw it on HGTV..... Anyway, yes, it is the 127 sale. We wouldn't have to do the whole route and we would just stop and go as we wanted. My mom loves to travel and loves to just stop if she sees something she thinks might be interesting.She hates to be on a 'mission' and just drive to get somewhere. Ihave tried to take her on a trip every year just the two of us. we didn't get to go last year due to finances. So I was hoping to take her somewhere this year and thought this would be fun.

From the shows that have aired, I think it would be fun, as long as enough people participated. I am a sucker for yard sales and garage sales - although I just don't have the time this year, I may have to try to go next year!!!
