Ever been able to do this

Just wondering if anyone has ever had luck doing this. I am doing a solo trip in a few weeks- I will be doing the DxDDP. In a few places, I would be happy with an appetizer and then another appetizer as my entree and then dessert.. Anyone been able to get an appetizer as an entree?
I know it may not be the best value but that's fine with me.. ( I value each DXDDP credit about 25.00 so really will not be that far off anyway no matter what)

From all accounts, it falls into the "depends on the restaurant/server/day/phase of the moon/etc" categories.

There's no reason a restaurant shouldn't allow such a thing -- it's really to their benefit -- but some servers or locations may resist for whatever reason. So don't plan on being able to do this at any particular location, but feel free to ask.
