We are not interested in the DDP. There is no longer much value in it, at least the way our family vacations. We prefer, instead, to get the TIW card. It saves us far more than the DDP and we aren't locked into an entree, dessert and beverage at every meal.
But if DVC gave us a 20% discount, would you be interested
In it?

No. Even at 20% off, I don't think the DDP would work for us. We often order an appetizer or two and rarely order dessert. To make it work financially we would have to give up the appetizers and order the more expensive entrees on the menu even if that is not what we felt like eating. We prefer the TIW card because we're free to order what we want and we get 20% off adult beverages as well. But if DVC gave us a 20% discount, would you be interested in it?
Nope. Paying out-of-pocket is already a better dead unless you have young children. So, the TiW discount is way better for me than any discount in the dining plan. But if DVC gave us a 20% discount, would you be interested In it?

do you have children under 10? Do you eat at a lot of buffets or fixed price meals? The website http://www.distripplanner.com is useful for comparing options. As soon as your children become 10-year-old "adults," the dining plan loses its advantage.Just out of interest, how did you work out that the TIW card was better value. I had this on our last trip and didn't even break even. When I work out the value of dining plan it works out better value by far. Only issue I have is that I prefer appetisers to desserts but even so it still works out better for us at least. Not questioning whether you are right or not, I'm just wondering since a lot of people seem to say the same thing and I just can't see how they can make any savings on it.
We are DVC members as well as AP holders. We are going 3 times between next week and a year from now. I know as a DVC member we get a % discount on dining but wondering if TiW is worth it as well.
Our trips will be 3 days, 8 days and another 3 day.
The length/frequency of your trips isn't a factor. It all depends on where you plan to eat. If you will spend more than $500 dining at restaurants that participate in TIW then it would save you money.
You can see the list of participating restaurants at www.tablesinwonderland.com
And the $500 is not exactly correct because you need to factor some places have DVC and/or AP discounts. There is a nice overview calculator in this threadcomparing TIW vs DDP vs OOP) http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3050182&highlight=disney+dining+calculator
